Abingdon Adventures: Tutu Time in the Cotswolds!

Hello darlings!

Itโ€™s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to take you on another fabulous adventure! Todayโ€™s post marks a whopping number 5368, proving that my dedication to spreading pink tutu love knows no bounds! ๐ŸŽ‰

This time, Iโ€™ve packed my sequined suitcase and hopped on a train (the choo choo!) for a delightful trip to the charming Cotswold town of Abingdon! As you all know, a good old-fashioned railway journey is always a perfect way to start a trip. Especially when you're dressed in a hot pink feather boa, a floral crown and your trusty tutu, of course! ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒธ

Abingdon, with its cobbled streets, cute shops and stunning scenery, just screamed "tutu time!" So, let's dive into all the girly delights this Cotswold beauty had to offer:

Tutu and The Cotswolds

My first stop was the Abingdon Town Hall, a magnificent Tudor building thatโ€™s truly a sight for sore eyes. I took a moment to strike a few poses, and the architectural grandeur certainly provided the perfect backdrop! But the highlight was definitely the stunning display of The Nutcracker ballet costumes inside! ๐Ÿฉฐโœจ

Honestly, those costumes were so dazzling! I mean, just the tutus themselves were works of art, shimmering in all shades of white, silver and gold! Let's just say I had a bit of a "tutu crisis" and had to try one on - much to the amusement of the museum staff! ๐Ÿคซ

Shopping for Tutu-liciousness

Now, every good trip demands a good old fashioned shopping spree! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ After admiring the gorgeous Victorian shops of Abingdon, I stumbled upon the most divine vintage boutique โ€“ I'm talking, vintage tutu-fabulous. Think 50s dresses, sparkly hats and feather boas โ€“ my kinda place.

I treated myself to a magnificent coral-coloured sequin dress, the perfect choice for a glamorous dinner at The Swan, a charming gastropub with all the atmosphere. Seriously, the atmosphere was sparkling, the food divine, and of course, the staff were absolutely delightful - itโ€™s safe to say, they loved my look! ๐Ÿ’…

Ballet Bliss

A trip to Abingdon wouldn't be complete without some cultural immersion! So, I decided to pay a visit to the local Abingdon Ballet School. I felt like a kid again as I twirled and pranced across the stage! (Okay, perhaps I just took a few graceful poses. ๐Ÿ˜‰) The energy in that room was pure magic. I must admit, I totally missed those "Tutu Tuesdays" we used to have back in my uni days at the Derbyshire Ballet Club.

You wouldn't believe it, but the whole ballet obsession started because of a dare. I was at the university's "Dress Up for Charity" event, studying my science degree - imagine a pink-tutu clad future scientist! I had to try on the one pink tutu they had! Well, let's just say it fit like a glove. โœจ From that moment on, there was no stopping me. Itโ€™s safe to say, pink tutus and science do a fabulous pairing, my dears.

From The Lab To The Stage

Speaking of science, a bit of a fun fact - I'm a textile scientist! So, in between all the dazzling performances and tutu-shopping sprees, I spent my day back in the lab, analyzing the strength of different fabrics. Believe it or not, science and performing actually go hand-in-hand. Think of the intricate fabrics in stage costumes โ€“ there's science involved in that too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So there you have it, folks - a taste of my fabulous weekend in Abingdon! I have to say, this town certainly knows how to sparkle! I can't wait to see what my next tutu-filled adventure will bring. Until then, keep on twirling!

With love, glitz, and a whole lotta pink,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
