Hello my darling readers! It's your favourite pink tutu princess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the utterly delightful town of Newtownards! You simply wouldn't believe the adventures I've had getting here - it was like a scene out of a fairytale!
Firstly, let's talk fashion, darlings! This trip was all about pastel pinks and glittery sparkles. You see, my dear, it's not just about the what you wear, it's about the how. Think of a pink tutu like a blank canvas; you can make it chic, sweet, sassy, or even a bit cheeky (just ask my cheeky feathered boa!).
So, my journey began in the heart of Derbyshire. As always, a lovely gentleman helped me pack my luggage (it's rather voluminous when you have a pink tutu and a spare, just in case!). We said our farewells, and I made my way to the station with a hop and a skip in my sequinned boots.
A journey by train is always such an adventure. It's all about those delicious moments of solitude - soaking in the scenery, catching up on some Vogue, and sipping a perfectly pink latte. But honestly, dear readers, I have to confess - I have a slight weakness for all things horse-drawn. That's right, this girl has got the vintage flair! And guess what? In Newtownards, a little bit of my fairytale dream came true. I found the most magnificent horse-drawn carriage!
I'm not even sure where the driver got it - something about a "gentleman's club" and a "celebration" (I just don't know where these men find these marvellous things, bless their souls!), but he was thrilled to let me take a spin in this utterly charming chariot. I was riding high, like a true princess, in my beautiful pink tutu, feeling like a million bucks!
But of course, it's not just about the journeys, it's about the destinations! And oh my, let me tell you - Newtownards was just divine! We are talking Victorian charm with a modern edge - think cobbled streets, gorgeous cafes, and little shops bursting with treasures. Now, you know I can't go anywhere without popping into some boutiques. Oh, and a certain vintage shop I can't mention but it is owned by a delightful gentleman with a flamboyant side who promised me some very special tutu treasures.
But back to my performance! I was thrilled to be asked to perform at the local theatre, nestled in a cosy, charming corner of Newtownards. I'd had to pack all my own sound equipment - the journey was quite a bit trickier for my big fluffy tutu - and it was a touch nerve-wracking. I have to confess to my usual pre-show anxieties!
"Oh darling, I'm going to trip and everyone is going to laugh!"
"What if my skirt falls off, they will think I'm just silly, a joke, just another silly scientist, not an artist."

But once I got on stage, it was all glitter, glamour, and fabulousness! I love getting lost in my music, feeling the energy of the crowd, and just being myself! That’s the beauty of being a drag queen. The tutu, the makeup, the performance. It's all about taking a chance, being brave, and making a statement. That's why I want all of you to get your tutu on, darling! No matter your age, your size, or your life choices, tutus are for everyone. Every one can join my fabulous world of sequins and sparkles, you know what I'm saying?
It was just a whirlwind weekend, but I squeezed in so much in those few days: Ballet performances (always a treat!), lunch with the lovely locals, and a shopping spree so good I'm still unpacking! Newtownards, you’ve definitely captured my heart!
This is what my world is all about. Traveling. The glitter. The tulle. It is why I call myself Pink Tutu Sparkles and perform under that name, right? I just have to spread the magic. Every place has its own brand of sparkle, that's why I'm so delighted I've got another town under my sparkly belt!
