Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you another instalment of the pinkest, most twirly travel blog on the internet. Today, my journey takes me northwards, to the charming town of Cramlington, Northumberland. And you know what? You better believe I'm bringing the sparkle with me!
It's been a while since I've felt the North Sea breeze on my face. But not today! I’m back in my element, surrounded by vibrant communities and friendly folk who have welcomed me with open arms (and some lovely tea, I might add!).
Now, this adventure began in the most glamorous way possible - a train journey, naturally! I've always felt that a good train journey is the ultimate way to travel. Picture me, sitting in first class, surrounded by pink luggage (of course!), sipping on my favourite pink cocktail (a special recipe I can't share just yet!), and feeling every ounce of anticipation for my show later tonight. The carriage was a sea of pink, as I whipped out my sparkly sewing kit for a quick costume touch up (a little sparkle on the pink sequins, what can I say? The more glitter the better!).
Arriving in Cramlington, I was immediately captivated by the beauty of the place. This charming town exudes a certain kind of understated elegance, like a classic ballet piece. Just a stone’s throw from the bustling Newcastle upon Tyne, Cramlington feels like a calming sanctuary, filled with quaint shops, delightful parks and friendly faces. The air hums with energy - it's like a stage awaiting its final act!
I am staying with my dear friend, Polly, who is just as passionate about pink and sparkle as I am. She runs the most divine little boutique here in Cramlington. Polly was so kind to let me use her lovely dressing room to prep for tonight's show, surrounded by a dazzling array of clothes and accessories. I even found a vintage hat that perfectly complements my new pink tutu (you know I can’t resist a bargain!).
But let’s talk about the highlight of this trip - the show! It was at the stunning Cramlington Theatre, and I'm not exaggerating, I'm telling you - a jewel in the crown of this charming town! I can't tell you enough how gorgeous the theatre is. Think opulent red velvet seats, plush lighting and a stage that begs to be danced on. Honestly, the whole thing was like a beautiful dream!
And as for my performance? Well, I’ll let the photos and videos speak for themselves! But believe me, this show was extra special. There were more laughs than you could shake a feather boa at, my new tutu spun with joyful abandon, and the crowd absolutely loved it. It truly was a pink-tastic celebration of life and laughter, and the cheers afterwards made my heart soar!
But beyond the dazzling sequins and dramatic makeup, it was the people that made this night unforgettable. I saw families, couples, friends - all united by the shared joy of laughter, music, and the magic of a performance. You see, for me, it's never just about the costumes, or the choreography - it’s about creating moments, weaving together memories that will last a lifetime.
One little girl in the audience told me that my performance inspired her to dream big and wear pink tutus everywhere she went. And you know what? That is precisely what my drag queen heart beats for! If Pink Tutu Sparkles can encourage even one little girl to embrace her inner sparkle and confidence, then all this traveling, all the glittery makeup and sequins are absolutely worth it.
I'll leave you with one final thought, my darlings. The journey itself is just as important as the destination. It's all about taking that first step, and dancing your way through life with passion and a little bit of pink! So remember, be brave, be bold, and never forget the power of a good twirl!
