Frome - The Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes to the West Country šŸ©°āœØ (Blog Post #5393)

Hello my gorgeous lovelies! šŸ’‹šŸ’‹ Itā€™s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, ready to take you on another adventure in fabulousness! I've been on the road again, traveling by the most majestic mode of transport...the train! šŸš‚ It was so lovely watching the English countryside whizz by, filled with autumnal colours, while I sat comfortably sipping my tea and listening to some swoon-worthy show tunes.

Iā€™ve got a big heart for travelling. You may have seen me posting pictures of myself dressed to the nines and trotting off on my adventures around the country and even further afield. But travelling to Frome, Somerset, had to be my best journey yet, because ooh la la, you wonā€™t believe who else was in townā€¦ drum roll ... The National Ballet of Great Britain!!! I told you my little darlings, this adventure was set to be spectacular!

Oh, my sweet darlings! Letā€™s backtrack a bit. This weekā€™s trip to Frome actually started on the train ride over. It began, of course, as it always doesā€¦with a full-blown pink outfit! Pink sparkly jumper, my favourite pink patent leather heeled ankle boots, pink heart-shaped earringsā€¦ and my piĆØce de rĆ©sistance ā€“ my pink, twirly, full-length tulle tutu. This time I picked up some pink-tinted face masks in a London store with a sweet old lady called Miss Gladys, sheā€™s sooooo fun, my darlings, we shared some lemon cake and stories! Gladysā€™ a bit of a hootā€¦ so a couple of little tipples of wine got passed around on the train, (it is a Tuesday afternoon after all, darlings) but my tutu made it into Frome in perfect, pink and fluffy condition.

Anyway, before we get to Frome, it is time for another fun, fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles life story anecdote ā€“ donā€™t you worry darling, I never get bored of retelling the fabulous times in my pink and glittery pastā€¦ šŸ˜œ This one is how I came to love the magic and the grace of tutusā€¦ it all began when I was studying Science at university (yes! Even us scientists like to twirl!), and I was invited to join the Universityā€™s ballet club. I was just there to cheer on my mates who were in a charity show. Well, dear reader, to my surprise, the costume department had run out of ā€œrealā€ ballerinasā€™ outfits (those are so fabulous!) but I got asked to wear a Tutu! This fabulous little tutu with little silver glitter dots in the fabric was meant to be on the charity model who got stuck in a traffic jamā€¦

Let me tell you my sweet, it was love at first whirl! It was a real moment of transformation for me. I have always loved to dance, (yes, in those long science lab coats and thick socks!) but after wearing the tutu, I was filled with the need to do some serious twirling. You know how it goes, once you go pink tutu, you canā€™t go back. āœØ And with that, a new pink tutu loving Pink Tutu Sparkles was bornā€¦

But now back to Frome. Letā€™s talk about why you should visit! Frome is the cutest town and has lots of great places to get those all-important photo shoots of my outfits - I especially love the streets around The Cheese & Grain arts and music venue. Fromeā€™s been featured on many ā€˜must-see-placesā€™ list (I did mention itā€™s super cute!), so of course, my beautiful darling, the pink tutu had to go there.

On the subject of getting a pink tutu moment - a picture of my outfit taken near the town square just about sent the internet into a tizzy ā€“ lots of positive comments and heart-eyes emojis! This week I learned that people really, really, love a pink tutu - even people who wear blackā€¦ maybe one day they'll embrace the colour, too! The more I travel, the more I realise people really love the colourful sparkle in their lives. You can see a gorgeous view of Frome town on the train line coming from Bath Spa which is right nearby. Oh! And I found an awesome retro 80s music shop where I bought some fabulous sequins for the back of a tutuā€¦ more about those in my next blog. āœØ

As you know my lovelies, ballet and I are a real match made in heaven, so when the National Ballet was in Frome doing a performance of the gorgeous Swan Lake, well, of course, my pretty darlings, I was there with bells onā€¦and a tutu. It was my third time seeing it, and my darling, every single time, I was floored by their movesā€¦ Swoon! But itā€™s not just the big dance that takes my fancy. I had such a brilliant time watching the children perform on their second annual dance show that featured all the most iconic ballet moments - they were amazing. You know I love it when kids perform with a huge pink smile - they were totally brilliant!

I think what made Frome such a unique treat, was finding that even the littlest ballerina wannabes wear the tiniest, squishiest tutus and they really did enjoy them! You just canā€™t resist them! (Especially with a good bit of glitz and glitter.) Even one boy took a bow at the end in the fluffiest tutu. His parents were in hysterics, the whole crowd erupted with cheers and it was clear this is why I just have to wear my tutus everywhere I go! The power of the tutu sparks happiness - how can that not make you smile? I donā€™t know, how about a story about a Pink Tutu Sparkel who once did a flashmob routine for the community centre with kids from the ballet school? Everyone loved it, and you just know I got to share my ā€˜Wear a pink tutuā€™ gospel with them tooā€¦ I always have to! Itā€™s just my thing!

This blog is nearly ending so Iā€™m about to embark on the grand finale! The ultimate ballet journey for a Pink Tutu Sparkle - the actual Frome ballet classes, now, hereā€™s a dream come true, darlings! They happen in a room upstairs, up some narrow stairs - I made it there without a hitch - even in my high heels. I do love to have the courage of my tutu, I find that gives me so much confidence and lets me do all the best twirling - so that was great practice before the big reveal! This week, they were practicing Swan Lake... but the teacher took pity on me and let me dance the steps with the ballerinas. They were all so friendlyā€¦ and I know for certain, that they are going to be awesome! It was great getting in there with them, a little bit of my love for ballet just made its way into their beautiful moves... Oh, the beauty and the brilliance, darling, thatā€™s what I love about the magic of dance!

And I have one more extra piece of Pink Tutu Sparkle magic to tell you, I know you just can't get enough of itā€¦ whispers The beautiful girls had a special dance night at the school and I had been invited! I thought you would like to know about that, because sometimes it can be tough going solo, so when people come together to create magical experiences... well, that just made me feel soā€¦ fabulous!

Well, it's getting dark and I must head to a performance. A busy little pink sparkle bee always has places to be, darlings! Do keep coming back to my page and look at the fabulous photos I've posted from my amazing adventure - but make sure you read all of them! You never know where my journey will take you next...

Love you always,
