As you know, I adore a good adventure and this week I'm bringing the pink sparkle to Belfast! 💃 I’m here for post number 5430 (yes, I’m up to my ears in sequins – and spreadsheets – to keep up with it all!) and I’m on a mission: to spread the pink tutu love all over this beautiful city.
Train Travels in Pink! 💖
Honestly, you know how I love a good train journey! There's something magical about being on the tracks, chugging along to a new destination, the world whizzing past the windows, and me, in my full pink regalia, perched up with a cuppa, the anticipation bubbling like the tea in my teapot! 🫖 This trip, I went for a glorious bubblegum pink tutu with silver trim, a pink fluffy cardigan and some pink glitter boots - the train was my own personal pink palace on wheels! 👑

You see, there's something so vibrant about Belfast. From the friendly faces to the historic charm, it's a city that just wants to celebrate life - which is exactly my cup of tea, darling! ☕️ So, when I arrive, I don't hold back. My pinkest tulle is out, the pinkest makeup is on, and the pinkest feather boa is whipping in the wind! 💋 I can't wait to hit the streets and bring my own special brand of sparkly fun to this fantastic place.
Pink Power on the Streets of Belfast! 💖
Right off the bat, I felt right at home! There's a fantastic little vintage boutique just a stone’s throw from the train station, filled with the most amazing clothes – so of course I HAD to go shopping! We're talking 1950s dresses, statement hats and an entire wall dedicated to fabulous, sparkly tights. It was a PINK dream, lovelies! 💖
I made my way through the bustling city centre, people giggling as they pass by. They’re giving me high fives, snapping photos, and calling me names like ‘pink fairy’, ‘dancing doll’, and my favourite, 'the cutest tutu ever'! 😄 It warms my heart to know that people enjoy my colourful creations, it's like spreading a little joy with every flutter of my tutu.
A Ballet-ful Night! ✨
Being the true ballet enthusiast I am, Belfast couldn’t have been a better location. We were here to celebrate the grand reopening of the Lyric Theatre and what could be better than the Northern Ireland Opera doing a showstopping production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake? 😍 Oh darling, you just can’t go wrong with the classics!
Naturally, I wore my favourite lilac tutu, a gorgeous silk, silver bodice, and a crown of blush pink flowers. I wouldn’t want to outshine the talented performers on stage but we do need a little pink glam in the audience, don’t we? 💖 It was such a fantastic performance and just another wonderful example of why this city has such an amazing creative energy.

Tomorrow, I'm heading off on another big adventure! I'll be joining a lovely community group - 'Belfast Blooms' - they host a fabulous ballet street performance at Queen's Square on Saturdays! You know I can't resist any sort of dancing, especially in the open air, and with a local ballet group on hand - a ballerina can't be lonely! 💃 So, if you're in the area, come say hello! It's all going down on the streets of Belfast, and as usual, I'll be ready to bring the pink power. 😉

P.S. A bit about me: You might have heard me tell this story before, but I always love sharing the genesis of this tutu journey! So, back in Derbyshire, my science lab days, I'm pretty sure it was a university charity fundraiser – they asked everyone to try on the silliest thing they could find and BAM! That tutu stole my heart! Never thought I'd end up becoming Pink Tutu Sparkles but I guess sometimes the best stories come out of the most unexpected moments, eh? 😁
