Oxford: The City of Dreaming Spires and Sparkling Tutus! 🩰✨

Helloooo my fabulous darlings! 💖 It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing you another sprinkle of fabulousness from my whirlwind travels! This is post number 5448, believe it or not! I know, it’s a lot of posts, but when you’re as obsessed with tutus and travels as me, the words just flow out, like a river of glitter and joy.

So, today, we’re in Oxford! Known as “The City of Dreaming Spires,” Oxford’s truly something special. There’s something about its history and academic charm that really gets me going! Plus, those old buildings - so gothic and dramatic - are the perfect backdrop for a glamorous Pink Tutu Sparkles photoshoot. (Spoiler alert: Expect some incredible pictures!)

Getting here was an adventure in itself. You know I love travelling in style! I'd been longing for a good train journey, so this time I hopped on the mainline straight from Derbyshire, dreaming of Parisian cafes and glittering dance floors. I felt like a proper character straight out of an Agatha Christie novel. All I needed was a pair of gloves and a good mystery to solve! 🕵️‍♀️

When I got to Oxford station, the sun was setting and the air was crisp. The kind of air that makes you feel like you could fly! I was instantly enthralled, you could practically feel the academic energy crackling through the air. It was just what my heart needed after a busy week of spinning sparkles at local festivals and county fairs. I swear, people were taking pictures of me at the train station. I mean, let’s face it, who wouldn’t be captivated by the vision of a dazzling Pink Tutu Sparkles making her grand entrance?

Right after dropping my luggage off at my gorgeous little Airbnb (all pink decor and frills of course!), I went straight for a ballet class at the renowned Oxford Ballet Theatre. Now, you know I can't resist a chance to spin those tutus! The class was challenging, and even though I’m a seasoned tutu pro, I still managed to work up a good sweat. Just what I needed before indulging in a fabulous shopping spree! I mean, how could I be in Oxford, the home of stylish academics, without doing some serious vintage clothing shopping? I’m pretty sure I got some killer finds - keep an eye out on the blog next week, I’m planning to do a whole post dedicated to my new vintage treasures. 😉

Now, this wouldn't be a real Pink Tutu Sparkles blog post without mentioning food. My journey wouldn’t be complete without some tasty delights. I started my day with a cheeky afternoon tea at The Marmalade. It’s the ultimate dainty, British spot with adorable decor and the most delicious, finger sandwiches you ever did see. And of course, I had a selection of the finest pink teacakes and macarons to sweeten my afternoon!

Tonight, I’m indulging in a proper, decadent dinner. I’m hearing there’s this fantastic Italian restaurant called The Ashmolean, right next door to the Oxford Museum. Oh, the drama! They tell me the view is divine, overlooking the Thames River. I can already imagine the perfect evening with candlelight, some Tuscan wine and of course, the most amazing pink champagne.

Oxford’s really stolen a piece of my heart. I’m getting strong “Jane Eyre” vibes - it’s so charming and full of hidden stories! This weekend is all about the arts and culture, darling. I’m going to catch a show at the Oxford Playhouse, I hear it's got amazing productions! Then I’m venturing into the city’s hidden nooks and crannies.

Maybe, if I'm feeling adventurous, I’ll even try and meet up with some of the real students and learn their favourite Oxford secrets! Oh, I have so many photos to show you! It wouldn’t be Pink Tutu Sparkles without sharing all the glamorous highlights of my travels! You can expect an epic photo dump on my socials soon!

And, of course, remember, my dearest friends: Every day can be a fabulous day when you’re wearing a pink tutu! So, grab one, twirl with a smile and live your best, sparkly life! 💕 ✨

Until next time,
