Gloucester: A Pink Tutu Sparkle-tastic Adventure!

Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulously pink blog post! Today's adventure? Gloucester! I'm on post number 5451, can you believe it? That's over 14 years of glitter, glamour, and glorious tutus!

Now, I know some of you think Gloucester's a bit dull, but I always find it an absolute delight! You see, Gloucester has a special place in my pink-loving heart. Remember that time I rode in the local May Fair Parade on a gloriously decorated white horse? And the ballet performance I attended at the very regal Everyman Theatre? Those moments truly sparked my sparkle.

Gloucester was my third stop on the Pink Tutu Train Tour (I swear, it’s a thing!), where I’m criss-crossing the country sharing the message of "everyBODY in a pink tutu." And you know what? Gloucester took it to heart! From the moment I arrived at the charming Gloucester Train Station, with its lovely Victorian architecture, everyone was in their pinkest mood. The railway staff, bless their hearts, were in pink scarves and even the ticket machine seemed to sparkle pink!

After dropping my luggage off at the delightfully quirky little B&B (who knew they'd have pink towels!), it was time for a spot of shopping, obviously! The first stop had to be the High Street. Let’s just say the “Sparkle in a Jar” fragrance oil at the quaint apothecary was a steal. But the true triumph of the day was the absolutely stunning pink tutu dress at a vintage boutique. A vintage pink tutu dress? This is why Gloucester holds a special place in my heart, it knows how to pink things up!

Feeling truly fabulous in my new frock, I met up with a darling friend for tea at the lovely (and pink, of course) "Rose & Tea" shop. Oh my darling, the cakes! Scones, Victoria sponge, a slice of heavenly pink merengue, I ate so many delightful treats and felt my inner Sparkle sparkle brighter than ever.

Speaking of bright, I needed to be seen in my pink outfit so I ventured to Gloucester's historic cathedral, a marvel of English architecture and quite pink-tastic as the sun was setting. You'd think that the history and solemnity of this hallowed place wouldn’t be my kind of scene, right? But you’d be so wrong! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and the cathedral’s windows created the most magical light – it was literally a pink paradise!

But the best moment of my trip to Gloucester had to be when I met up with local ballet class who I invited to perform a flash mob on the bustling Docks. Oh, those twirling limbs! That grace! They’re not professionals but they stole the show with a vibrant display of elegance. They were amazing, each and every one. It was truly inspiring to see those girls embrace the joy and energy of ballet.

Later that evening, after a delicious meal of Gloucester old spot (so very English) and of course, a bottle of pink prosecco, I finally hit the stage for my Pink Tutu Sparkle show. As I did my thing, all eyes were on my shimmering pink tutu, my glittery pink make-up, and of course, my big pink smile!

The Gloucester crowd was a total riot of applause and cheers! So, remember my dear readers: if you ever want a weekend that is bursting with pink-tastic magic, make your way to Gloucester. It will be, as we say, “A real pink treat!”.

Stay sparkly and stay pink! Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
