Colchester Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles is Here!

Hello darlings, welcome to blog post number 5459 here on www.pink-tutu.com, the only place on the internet where you'll find all the pink tutu love your little heart desires! Today I'm buzzing, I'm absolutely buzzing, because guess where I am? That's right, my fabulous little cherubs, I'm in the stunning historic town of Colchester! Now, I've always been a bit of a history buff (don't tell anyone, but I studied it for my first degree...shhhh!) and Colchester has SO much to offer. From the Roman ruins to the amazing castle, I've been living my best Roman life (did you see my post from the bathhouse?!).

I got here, of course, in style - well, as stylish as a train journey can be - because, honey, the only mode of transport fitting for Pink Tutu Sparkles is by train or a very patient horse (and let's face it, a horse in this weather?! No, darling). It was a journey filled with delicious pink cappuccinos and whispered "oh honey"s about those dreadful fashion choices on the platform (not me, obviously...I looked exquisite). And did you see my little pink suitcase with the tutu pattern? I was like a walking, talking (and slightly chaotic) pink dream!

The reason for my jaunt to this gorgeous town is to bring you the dazzling news, darlings, that I am performing in Colchester this weekend! This place is so historic and the crowds here are fantastic, I just KNOW they're going to LOVE Pink Tutu Sparkles. Oh, the joy of a good drag performance!

Now, I don't want to give away ALL the details (there are a few surprises I'm whipping out of my hat for the performance) but I can tell you this: I'm rocking a custom-made pink tutu (a real show-stopper, let me tell you!), and the routine will be something special! I'm channeling all my inner fabulousness into this show, inspired by all the amazing history, art, and culture around me. Think: Victorian grandeur meets contemporary twirls!

I just LOVE exploring new places. When you wear pink, you make an entrance everywhere you go! You get to know people you wouldn't normally meet. I love meeting other drag performers, people working at the theatres, and, of course, everyone who is going to come and watch the show! We get to share our passion, a love for a bit of sparkle!

Speaking of sparkle, before I became the darling Pink Tutu Sparkles, I was just a humble science grad student in Derbyshire - Alex, to be precise. And can you believe it, I studied fabrics! What a boring, predictable career path, right?! But then I found ballet and that was the turning point. That gorgeous world of pirouettes, graceful leaps and those fantastically flamboyant tutus - they're all the same pink you know, only some of them have real glitter - oh! The sparkly tutus make my heart flutter. Honestly, how I could I ever go to my university ballet club's charity event and just say NO to a pink tutu? Impossible! One peek at that frilly goodness and it was over - I was Pink Tutu Sparkles forevermore.

Now, my job during the day is testing fabrics - a scientific process, I can tell you! You need to know what makes the perfect pink, darlings! But by night, I'm bringing the joy of pink to audiences up and down the country (and even abroad - I might tell you about that trip to Paris later)!

The best part of being a drag queen is sharing that joy, my darlings! This trip to Colchester will be so much fun! You'll never believe who else is on the bill at the same venue. We've been working on some of our routines together, and I can't wait to see it all come together - this show is going to be amazing! (Yes, I've already promised I'll spill some of the secrets in a blog post next week - stay tuned!)

After the show, we are going out to the hottest place in Colchester, a fabulous cabaret venue - think music, dancing, maybe a bit of pink feather boa thrown in for good measure (just for me, obviously)!

One thing I have discovered: I don't think anyone has ever really truly understood pink before! Even the most fashionable person, who lives and breathes colour, hasn't even touched the tip of the pink iceberg until they see a dazzling Pink Tutu Sparkles in action. And the real magic is the tutu, my loves! When I walk onto that stage and twirl my pink, perfect frilly goodness, the audience knows, in their hearts, they have experienced true happiness!

I'm hoping everyone here will share their joy of pink and tutus! Just like this, maybe one day we will all wear pink tutus together. If there's one thing I've learnt as a drag artist, it's that we need a little more colour and a lot more twirls in this world!

So there you have it, my darlings! I'm off to start my preparations! Until next time, make sure youโ€™re spreading joy, dancing your hearts out, and maybe, just maybe, wearing a pink tutu for the world to see! And if you see me in Colchester, give me a big pink wave! I canโ€™t wait to see you!
