Pink Tutu Sparkles, aka Alex here, and welcome to blog post number 5469! 💖✨ It's a new day, which means a brand-new adventure. Today I'm shimmying into Salford, the city where they filmed "Coronation Street"! Isn't it fabulous? It’s like stepping right into the telly! Oh, and did I tell you? I’ve been taking ballet lessons again. You’d never guess it, with my dramatic pink tutu entrance, but my love of dance runs deep. Like, deep enough to have spent the past couple of weeks perfecting my fouetté turns in preparation for this trip! (No, you can’t have a glimpse, my tutu is my secret weapon!🤫)
The Journey:
I always travel in style, darlings! 👠 And as much as I love a good horse ride (especially in my fabulously frilled pink riding gear!), I was feeling very railway chic today! 🚄 Honestly, nothing says “I’m ready to sparkle!” quite like a luxurious train ride. You see, getting to my gigs is all part of the act, lovelies! I’ve perfected the art of transforming a boring carriage into my personal catwalk. A few strategically placed sparkles, a dab of blusher, and boom, I'm ready to dazzle even the most weary commuter.
And you wouldn’t believe the compliments I get! A couple of elderly ladies last week on the train even told me I was “an absolute inspiration, a modern day fairy tale.” Oh darling, I know I said I was looking forward to "Coronation Street" today, but those comments had me feeling like Cinderella! 😂 (Honestly, all it took was some lipstick, mascara and the power of pink! 😜)
Salford’s Got Talent:
Arriving in Salford, my dear, was a feast for the eyes! There are beautiful buildings, friendly people, and so much vibrant energy buzzing through the air! The local community center was full of people excited for my arrival, their eyes shining with anticipation as I swept into the room. Honestly, they were absolutely smitten. Who wouldn’t be? This was a double-act delight because the fabulous "Sally" – the centre’s volunteer manager, dressed me up as a "Christmas fairy," all sparkly silver and tinsel. 🎅 We even did a little impromptu impromptu ballet routine together - a dazzling mixture of classical grace and playful sass, right there in the middle of the community hall!
We all know I'm no stranger to a little DIY - from sewing my own custom-made tutus to crafting sparkly accessories, my dear. And this week was no exception! I couldn't resist adding my signature pink flair to the festive decorations. They are absolutely blooming marvelous now! ✨
The Pink Tutu Magic:
And darling, you just know that pink tutus had to be a part of the celebration! Honestly, nothing beats spreading the pink tutu gospel! We all got dressed up, had a blast at the craft workshops, and were truly embracing that "everything is possible" feeling. ✨ I think we were all secretly a little obsessed with the Christmas fairies, their tutus glittering with silver snow.
After my show (you know, all those twirls and pirouettes! The crowd loved it!), I hung out with the local families. I mean, come on, spreading sparkle is what I do, isn't it? You’d have thought I was royalty! 😉 The little ones all loved their "Pink Tutu Sparkles" photos and had me promising that my sparkly, fluffy goodness would be back next year! 💖
A Slice of Home:
There's something very special about bringing a bit of your hometown to every performance. So, guess what? In my bag I carried some Derbyshire Derby cake for everyone to enjoy. My sweet treat with my pink tutu flair! 🍰 It always seems to get people laughing, which is definitely the highlight of every trip. After all, that’s what it's all about! Sharing laughter and smiles. ✨
Back to the Lab! 👩🔬
Now, back to the mundane, for the moment... My science laboratory, my sparkly research lab, is calling. My days are dedicated to fabrics, to understanding the science behind that perfect twirl and the power of shimmering sequins. But my nights, darling, my nights are devoted to spreading that magic, spreading the pink tutu love, all across the land.
