Nuneaton: Tutu Tales and Sparkling Adventures (Post #5486)

Darling dears,

Hello from the gorgeous town of Nuneaton! Can you believe it? Your favourite pink tutu-clad queen is back on the road again, spreading the gospel of fabulousness with my trusty pink feather boa and, of course, my signature, dazzling pink tutu!

This is actually Post Number 5486 on my blog, www.pink-tutu.com - did you know I've been writing it every day for the past fifteen years? Honestly, sometimes it feels like just yesterday I was posting from my student digs in Derbyshire, rocking that turquoise tutu that looked so fabulous with my favourite oversized jumper - back when I was a shy little science student who'd never even dreamed of becoming the dazzling drag sensation that is Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Now, let me tell you, arriving in Nuneaton was quite the adventure. I'd planned on catching a horse-drawn carriage, but alas, there wasn't a single one to be found! So, I had to take the train instead. Don't get me wrong, a good train journey can be positively sparkly, but nothing beats a ride in a horse-drawn carriage with the wind in my hair, wearing a pink tutu, obviously.

My performance this evening is at the town's grandest theatre, the wonderfully ornate 'Nuneaton Arts Centre', a perfect setting for my latest dance number - "Ballet Bubbles" a sparkling homage to ballet, tutus, andā€¦ well, you guessed itā€¦ pink bubbles. Let's just say I'm bringing all the pink-tastic, twirly magic!

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of glitter, tutus, and travel. My itinerary has taken me from the bright lights of London's West End, where I dazzled a rather snooty, yet incredibly stylish crowd at the fabulous ā€œRainbow Dreamsā€ charity gala. I absolutely loved that. Everyone, I mean everyone, wore tutus!

Speaking of tutus, I have to share a little secret: did you know there are tutus made fromā€¦ fabric!? Honestly! A secret revealed ā€“ as a scientist, I am constantly researching new and exciting fabrics for tutus! I just adore them! Of course, the ones I wear onstage are always bespoke - each and every one handmade with a whole heap of glitter, a sprinkle of sparkles, and the magic touch of Pink Tutu Sparkles - me, darling, in all my sparkly, fabulous glory.

So, you see, being a drag queen isn't all about the sparkle and shine. It's about pushing boundaries, challenging perceptions, and yes, even a bit of fabric testing, even if I only confess to the fabric testing after a glass of champagne. Don't tell anyone, itā€™s a secret!

Back to Nuneaton. There are rumours of the most amazing cake shop called "Betty's Baking" which I hear has the most fantastic, rainbow-coloured cupcake designs! Can't wait to take a peek. It is said to be run by a wonderfully flamboyant man, dressed in an incredible blue tutu with a pink and green feathered hat! I can't wait to have my tutu photographed next to his, I simply must have the photos for my blog.

But first, there's a ballet class at the beautiful Nuneaton Performing Arts Studio - I simply must perfect my fouettƩ for tonight's performance, darling. It's all about the technique, you know. Even when you're dazzling on stage, you must have the moves!

Stay tuned for all the fabulous fun I'm having here in Nuneaton, my darlings! Don't forget to pop over to my blog and join my mission: every single person on this planet, wearing a pink tutu! Thatā€™s my life goal: make the world a much pinker, more sparkly place.

And for a little added inspiration, here are some pics from my travels - remember to scroll down for the photos from Nuneaton!
