Hello lovelies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and let me tell you, life is truly a shimmering pink ballet shoe! Today, we're talking all about Lowestoft, that beautiful little seaside town nestled on the East Anglian coast.
It's blog post number 5507, can you believe it?! And what better way to celebrate than by embracing my absolute favourite colour, pink, in a spectacular setting? Oh darling, I was practically radiating pink-tinted happiness the whole weekend.
As a true believer in spreading the tutu love, I arrived in Lowestoft with a brand new tutu (naturally pink, darling, but with shimmering silver sequins and feather trim!), and my trusty steamer trunk full of sparkling, glittery ensembles. A drag queen's gotta be prepared, don't you know!
This trip was a true dream come true for this girly-girl, as I got to experience the seaside at its finest, and of course, there was a fabulously fancy dress party I was headlining. It wasn't all sunshine and beach balls, though! Oh no, we had to make the journey there first, and I am proud to report I made it on the back of a horse-drawn carriage! Truly the most magnificent way to travel, darling.
From Derbyshire, the journey to Lowestoft was picture postcard pretty. Rolling hills and blooming fields whizzed past, all the while I was feeling the breeze in my hair and enjoying the rhythmic clatter of hooves on the cobblestone roads. Oh, the romance! It truly reminded me of my absolute favourite fairytale - "The Princess and the Pea" of course.
Imagine, dear reader, the delightful carriage journey I enjoyed, surrounded by hay and soft fur, with my pink tutu neatly tucked away (so it didn't get ruffled!), a hot chocolate steaming by my side, and the happy clip-clop of the hooves - sheer magic! You simply have to give it a go.
Reaching Lowestoft, the wind whipping my sparkly tutu around, I knew instantly that this town was going to be a hoot. There was something about its charming seaside vibe, and of course, the fresh sea air just invigorates you. And just when I thought I couldn't possibly have a more dazzling experience, my jaw nearly dropped to the ground when I saw the pink-tinted sunset over the sea - a true feast for the eyes, darling!
Now, let's talk about that party, shall we? It was a glorious affair, held at a lovely old-fashioned theatre on the promenade. There were balloons everywhere, sparkling confetti, and an air of excitement that just fizzed with anticipation. Oh, and the music! Just imagine a catchy playlist of everything from Kylie to the classic pop hits – simply divine!
As soon as I hit the stage, I knew this crowd was going to be wild for a Pink Tutu Sparkles show! They hooted and hollered with delight, and by the end of my performance, we were practically swimming in glitter, smiles, and joyful energy. It was simply magnificent.
One thing you absolutely must do in Lowestoft, especially if you’re a lover of all things pretty, is check out the beautiful promenade! Imagine, miles of colourful buildings lined up like a perfect rainbow of candy, a pier that stretches out into the turquoise water, and an abundance of ice cream shops selling all the rainbow colours! Pure delight, I tell you!
On the whole, this trip was absolutely a-mazing! My wardrobe, all my pink dresses, sparkly tights, and of course, my stunning pink tutus got to shine bright under the seaside sun and moonlight. Every day was a dazzling, happy dance, and I couldn't have asked for more. I even got some absolutely beautiful photos - the perfect reminder of this unforgettable adventure.
Before I sign off, I have a confession: as a drag queen, I love a good makeover! And what better place to do that than in a quaint, seaside town? While I was in Lowestoft, I popped into this adorable little beauty shop – all pink, of course! – and came out looking like a bonafide seaside siren! (Trust me, I’ll post those selfies later on my Pink Tutu Blog).
