Sutton in Ashfield: Twirling with TutuQueen!

#TutuQueen: A Blog by Pink Tutu Sparkles - Post #5563

Hello darlings! It’s your TutuQueen here, ready to bring a dose of sparkle to your day! And what better way to start than with a post all about my latest adventure – Sutton in Ashfield, oh my!

Now, I’m no stranger to exploring the great British Isles. I love me some countryside charm and getting lost in the tapestry of history and heritage. But there's something extra special about the feeling of arriving in a new town, feeling that vibrant pulse of local life. Sutton in Ashfield just hummed with that kind of energy.

I was en route to a stunning theatre performance. You see, I’m always eager to see a great show, whether it’s a classic ballet masterpiece, a dynamic street dance performance, or a truly dazzling West End musical. There’s nothing quite like the sheer power of live art to elevate your mood, to move your soul. This show in Sutton was a unique blend of all these things, and it was a total delight!

The energy of the audience was infectious, the kind of feeling where you can almost hear the excitement bubbling up like a kettle ready to boil. There’s nothing quite like a packed house where everyone's feeling the magic of live performance together. The dancers moved with grace, precision and a captivating joy that simply had everyone enthralled. They spun, leapt and glided, leaving their mark on my heart.

But before the performance, I knew I had to get into the spirit of Sutton in Ashfield, to immerse myself in its unique charm. After all, every good journey involves some exciting exploration, some new experiences to add to the story. And for a queen like me, that means discovering a new fashion scene!

First stop was a delightful boutique on a quaint side street. Let me tell you, I absolutely adore those independent stores bursting with colour and character, and this one was brimming with treasures! From statement jewellery to gorgeous silk scarves, the shelves were packed with just the right amount of whimsy and charm, and of course, there were some pieces that practically screamed “TutuQueen!”. My fashion sense was practically tingling with excitement!

After indulging in some retail therapy, I found myself strolling through the market square. The sights and sounds of local life, the fresh produce spilling from stalls, the cheerful chatter of vendors - I felt a pang of joy for this slice of life. I loved observing people of all ages bustling around, the genuine smiles, the warmth in the air – pure magic!

To complete this Sutton symphony, what better than a truly decadent afternoon tea? My love for vintage charm knows no bounds, so a charming cafe with beautifully decorated china, and teacups adorned with dainty rose patterns, was the perfect setting.

I have to say, I’m completely enamoured with afternoon tea – a delightfully civilized and luxurious experience. You know, some good gossip, a slice of scrumptious cake, a delicate scone with lashings of clotted cream - pure bliss! It truly is the ultimate way to end a perfectly delightful afternoon.

But now, let’s talk about something truly magnificent – trains! Yes, my darling, you heard that right! I truly love them. Trains are more than a mere form of transportation, they're a gateway to adventures! They whisk you away from the everyday, taking you through fields, across bridges, towards something exciting and new.

I have such a fond memory of one of my favourite train journeys. You see, I’m a Derbyshirian lass at heart, and my hometown is home to the Peak District. Well, one glorious day I boarded a train in Derby, feeling the wind in my hair as we rolled through the rolling hills, leaving the hustle and bustle of town life behind. The sight of the Peak District mountains, all rugged and grand, with their tapestry of green valleys, just mesmerized me.

Sometimes, when I’m traveling, I just look out the window, the world a whirlwind of fleeting scenes. It's a calming ritual, just letting the world flow by as the rhythmic chug of the train lulls you into a relaxed state of mind.

But for those of you who like a bit of old-school glamour, nothing quite beats the thrill of horse riding! I love how it connects you with nature, feeling the strength and energy of the animal under you as you ride across the countryside. I always find a sense of freedom when I’m in the saddle, like I’m a character in a beautiful novel, ready to explore all the secrets that the rolling hills hold.

I was thrilled to experience an enchanting horseback adventure here in Sutton. I rode along quiet country lanes, surrounded by lush greenery and quaint cottages. The gentle rhythm of the horse’s steps, the fresh air in my hair, and the magnificent landscapes just melted my worries away, leaving me with a feeling of pure joy.

And while I love to gallivant around in all my sparkly glory, my biggest passion remains spreading the joy of tutus. I believe in embracing that feeling of lightness and freedom that a twirling pink tutu can evoke, a playful touch of magic that everyone deserves. It’s more than just a piece of clothing – it's an attitude, a symbol of happiness and embracing life’s beautiful adventures, whether you’re dancing your heart out in a glamorous ball gown or twirling around in the sunshine.

After all, what’s life without a little twirl and a sprinkle of pink magic?

Until next time darlings!
