Hello my lovely TutuQueens! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another post! Today I'm positively bursting with excitement because, my darlings, I'm on a journey! That's right, this fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles is taking her glitter-tastic act to Barnet! It's going to be a whirlwind of sparkle and smiles, and I'm already brimming with anticipation for all the tutus, trains, andā¦oh, yesā¦theatre!
This, my darlings, is post number 5565, which seems rather appropriate, seeing as it's almost the magical year of 5566 (what a number!). And let me tell you, I've got so many plans for next year, especially in my favourite pink colour, that I think even YOU, my fabulous readers, will be blown away! But we're getting ahead of ourselvesā¦we're in Barnet now!
So, let me give you a glimpse into what makes my trips so special, because you know I like to share my love of travel, glamour, and (of course!) those divine pink tutus!
The Journey Begins:
As you all know, I'm a creature of habit. A good ol' fashioned train ride is always my first choice when travelling! It gives me time to daydream about my show, my outfits, and all those darling ladies and gentlemen who'll be joining me for a tutu-tastic night out. My most recent journey, however, was slightlyā¦different. Let's just say it was less āwhizzing past the countrysideā and more āslow-mo scenic adventureā!
Remember how Iāve been thinking of joining a stable for horse-riding practice? (You all know how much I adore animals!) Well, fate, that glorious tutu-loving entity, had other plans! I ended up taking a beautifully-designed horse carriage right to the very heart of Barnet. The sun was shining, the horses were gleaming, and the air was crisp and invigoratingā¦a positively perfect start to any trip!
Barnet and Its Beauty:
When I say ābeauty,ā I mean, of course, I'm not referring to any sort of āconventionalā standards. Weāre talking about beauty through a pink tutu lens, darling!
Firstly, let me tell you, this place has a certain charmā¦which may or may not include a delightful bakery Iām considering going to for some tea and a fabulous cupcake! But before my sugar rush, itās about the art! Barnet has a fantastic theatre that simply had to be part of my trip. Honestly, just walking through the entrance felt like Iād stepped straight into a grand, twinkling ballroom. Imagine, a pink tutu-tastic ballroom filled with laughter, glitter, and the sound of applauseā¦
I'm all for appreciating classic dance forms, so you better believe I went to see a ballet. It was a modern adaptation, filled with beautiful dance moves, some playful choreography, and even a touch of magic. They really brought the show to life, which made it an extra-special experience. As always, my lovely Pink Tutu Sparkles felt perfectly at home in that magical, dramatic atmosphereā¦ and of course, I wore the perfect pink tutu for the occasion. Can't resist a matching moment!
Fashionably Speakingā¦:
But the real fun, of course, started before the curtain rose! You already know how much I love indulging in some shopping, and darling, Barnet did not disappoint! Iām absolutely thrilled with the gorgeous pink fabric I found! Just think ā my new creation, designed from scratch! You know me, I always try to source my fabrics from places where I travel to, especially if they're vintage or have a special connection to the place. That vintage fabric shop is a dream come true, and I am seriously thinking about writing a full blog post about it. Just imagine ā you could all learn how to find fabulous fabrics in unlikely places, and let me tell you, there's nothing more satisfying than making a stunning tutu from materials that have a story to tell!
Speaking of stories, darling, hereās a fun one! Imagine my delight when I walked into the vintage shop and they were playing a song byā¦are you ready for this? ā āPinkā by Aerosmith! It was the perfect soundtrack to my shopping trip. That kind of divine, serendipitous experience makes me absolutely giddy. But honestly, can you even imagine how chic my next tutu creation is going to be with that exquisite fabric? It will have me looking fabulous from head to toe ā and let's not forget the pink lipstick! I love that dramatic contrast of deep red against pale pinkā¦ I'm almost blushing thinking about how sensational I'm going to look!
On the Stageā¦:
Okay, letās get to the exciting part ā my show! The performance in Barnet was everything I dreamed of, my TutuQueens! The audience was lovely, energetic, and genuinely seemed to enjoy my act. The space itself was gorgeousā¦ and it even has a stage that twinkles under the lights! Now, my darlings, you know how much I adore that sparkling, magical atmosphere. I have a feeling my show was as much a visual delight for the audience as it was for meā¦and you bet, my TutuQueen, my gorgeous pink tutu shone brightly!
For my performance in Barnet, I thought about the history of the place. It has such a vibrant theatrical history! I decided to embrace that element by incorporating some classic music and a touch of elegant choreography. After all, it wouldn't be right to visit such a place without a nod to its cultural heritage, would it? I just love creating moments like this, bringing in a bit of the location's energy to my performance and adding a unique layer of story to my act!
You might wonder, how does Pink Tutu Sparkles go from a normal, scientific, lab-working life by day to being a drag superstar by night? My darling, the journey begins with passion. When I was a student, in that time before drag life even entered my world, I'd often watch ballet performances with a twirl of my own. As you might have guessed, my love for tutus began in a university ballet club, when, at a charity event, I dared to put one on ā a magical moment I canāt help but think about whenever Iām feeling creative, or if my day was a little too āboringā for a scientific mind!
It was the magic of that pink tulle and the spark in the mirror that ignited the Pink Tutu Sparkles inside of me. When I wear the tutu, my darling, I feel unstoppableā¦ ready to bring colour and happiness into every life I encounter!
Final Thoughts:
Honestly, the experience in Barnet left me absolutely buzzing with energy! I was charmed by the people, the town, the theater, the fabric shop, and most importantlyā¦ the feeling of being able to spread my love of tutus and share a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparklesā sparkle. That's what it's all about, darling, bringing the joy!
I always say, you don't need to be on a stage to be a performer. Just remember that you've got the potential to make every moment a masterpiece, every outfit a creation, every smile a spark of happinessā¦and every journey an adventure! So go on, wear that tutu, twirl those skirts, and get your glitter on, TutuQueens!
