Herne Bay: Tutu Tales From The Kent Coast!

*Post #5597: *Oh, my darlings! How do you do? Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sparkle up your Tuesday with tales of tutu-filled adventures from the Kent coast! You see, my little sugarplums, a few days ago I found myself on the train, humming a tune about a sugar plum fairy and her tutu adventures as I gazed out at the fields. (The horse just had to be a little too enthusiastic on this trip. Poor chap - maybe some oat biscuits are needed). It felt like the first signs of spring had sprung up in the air! So, when I was booked to perform in Herne Bay, I packed up my little tutu case and got on board.

You see, Herne Bay is a little seaside town that’s as full of charm as it is fresh air, with an ocean of sunshine that brightens up even the most jaded soul. Now, you know I like a bit of theatrics in my life – but you see, for me, performing in a place like this takes a different type of glamour. It’s all about embracing the sunshine, the seaside breeze, and, yes, the real beauty of a simple life, all while still holding onto a bit of the magic of tutu-tastic draq.

Tutu in the Bay:

Now, this isn't my first rodeo on the coast. I’ve twirled, spun, and sashayed through Brighton's promenades, even shimmied down Bournemouth Pier, but Herne Bay brought a unique energy, like a whimsical ballet show unfolding against the backdrop of sandy shores.

My performance was a bit of a mix and match! It was at The Bayview Inn – an establishment steeped in local charm. A charming place, filled with locals who've lived in the town for generations and tourists on a weekend break. They love their local ale and music. So, for the first half, I danced a sweet and sassy number set to "Sugar Plum Fairy" with my signature pink tutu, a shimmering, iridescent fabric perfect for catching the golden afternoon sun. A classic for sure, my little buttercups!

Making Tutu Dreams Come True

For the second half of the show, I knew the atmosphere demanded something more light-hearted and cheeky! I was right. The audience went wild for my high-energy "Let’s Have Fun!" routine - all swirling tutus, bouncy music and a bit of silliness that's made to get the whole room in a tutu-licious frenzy. I'd even gone as far as whipping up a quick tutu tutorial for those who felt inspired (and a couple of young girls definitely took to it). Let's just say some tutus have been bought in the shop this week - it makes me SO happy to know that my journey is touching lives and that the pink tutu revolution is well underway!

Tutu-tiful Herne Bay

Now, you know how much I love me a seaside town - with that lovely salty sea air. This one was definitely worth the train ride. Between performances, I spent an afternoon strolling through the little streets, discovering quaint shops selling vintage clothes, trinkets, and beautiful shells. I fell head over heels for a little tearoom filled with afternoon tea delights (a classic Victoria sponge with my cuppa). Of course, a stroll along the promenade was a must! You know I love a spot of window shopping! I spotted some delightful pink tutu-inspired goodies in a few of the shops along the seafront - pink hats, sunglasses, scarves, all that jazz! Of course, I was bound to grab some beachside memorabilia. (Pink tutus at the ready! I'll post about them later.)

My Travels, my Inspiration

Of course, my time in Herne Bay gave me loads of new ideas for my next performance. Think colourful, playful, maybe even a dash of "Under The Sea" if I can swing it... The little things in life really spark the imagination and for me, Herne Bay was filled with a million tutu-tastic surprises that left me feeling full of joy, ready to embrace new challenges and new stages!
