Worthing: A Whirlwind of Pink Tutu Wonder!

Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you for Blog Post Number 5686! Get ready, because this is gonna be a pink-tastic ride, right down to the very last tulle stitch. Today we’re whisking you away to the sunny seaside town of Worthing, a place that stole my heart with its charming seaside charm and beautiful pier! 💖

Oh, the journey itself was a delight! As usual, I decided to take the scenic route. Why cram onto a crowded motorway when you can bask in the beauty of the countryside? My trusty steed – a gorgeous, grey horse called Sprinkles (because of the pink sparkly tack, duh!) - took me on a grand adventure through rolling green fields and past picturesque villages. I'm a real animal lover, so there's no better way to travel than with the gentle sway of a horse's stride.

Worthing welcomed me with open arms – or rather, with open theatres! I landed a fantastic gig at the town’s local theatre, "The Connaught". It was a stunning old building, all red brick and grand chandeliers, with an atmosphere that simply crackled with anticipation. I donned my shimmering pink tutu – it’s my favourite one, with all the added sparkle, obviously - and set the stage ablaze with my electrifying performance. The audience loved it, showering me with thunderous applause. Every single one of them went home with a new appreciation for pink tutus, if you know what I mean 😉

But let’s not forget the real reason I travel, the heart of my draggy adventure: to bring joy to every town and village! And oh my, Worthing is teeming with joy!

The town boasts a fantastic little shop called “Fancy Frock Boutique”, tucked away down a cobbled alley. Imagine a vintage boutique with all the glamour of a Parisian boudoir, then add a generous dash of pink, and you’ll get the picture. It was like walking into a dream! I snagged myself a couple of fabulously feathered headpieces and a fabulous pair of ruby-red shoes with the highest heels this side of London. And, of course, I simply couldn't resist trying on every pink tutu in the shop. Let’s just say they had my size and several styles I didn’t know existed!

Now, I don't think it’s fair to travel to the seaside without enjoying the actual sea, right? So, I made my way down to the promenade. It’s simply charming, with traditional, pastel-coloured beach huts that looked just like they’d stepped straight out of a picture postcard. And speaking of pastels, the Worthing pier! I could practically hear it humming with joyful seaside memories. They’ve got a big, brightly-painted carousel that practically screams "come and have fun!" I didn't ride it - I'd much rather stroll around on my own two feet and soak up the sun-drenched sea air, but the sound of laughter and the whirling lights were enough to make my heart sing.

A quick dip in the cool waters was absolutely necessary, and as fate would have it, I was rewarded with a breathtaking sunset. Pink, purple, and orange, painting the sky like a masterpiece – no artist could recreate those colours even with their most masterful strokes. I was almost overcome with a feeling of perfect bliss. (Honestly, Worthing is practically tailor-made for pink tutus, you know?)

My time in Worthing had come to an end all too soon, but it's certainly not goodbye! I can already see myself coming back to this adorable little seaside gem, especially when it gets colder! They have the most amazing fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. But remember, darling, pink tutus and fish and chips, always on the menu!

Don't forget to keep those tutus spinning, keep those dreams colourful, and never stop shining bright! Remember, a world where everyone wears a pink tutu is a world worth living in. Stay tuned for my next exciting adventure!

Much love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx

Post Scriptum: (And speaking of exciting adventures... Did you know I got my first drag performance at a church fair when I was just eighteen? Turns out the church was a little too conservative for pink tutus back then, but they were quite charmed by my impersonation of the village baker! Sometimes the silliest things make for the most magical memories, eh?)
