Hello my lovely darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with a brand-new blog post, and this one's extra sparkly! 💫 Why? Because darling, I'm in Berlin!
Berlin, the city of history, culture, and fabulousness - and guess what? They just love a good tutu here! 😜 It’s the perfect city to get my pink-tutu mojo flowing, and trust me, you're in for a treat. I've been doing loads of shows here - from a glamorous rooftop party to a little street performance, all fuelled by delicious currywurst (yum!) and the incredible energy of this incredible city.
But before I spill the beans on my fabulous Berlin adventures, let's have a quick catch-up! You've been a right busy bee lately, haven't you? Reading my blog, getting those tutus ordered, making the world a more sparkly, pink-tutu filled place - you're amazing!
The Long and Winding Road to Berlin
My journey to Berlin was, shall we say, a touch unconventional. As much as I adore planes, my travelling soul yearns for the open road, so I hopped aboard the most glorious train from Derbyshire, my home sweet home, to this vibrant city. 🚂 Yes, that's right - a two-day train ride! Filled with glorious views, fascinating encounters, and enough hot chocolate to sink a tutu in, I arrived in Berlin with a heart brimming with excitement and a bag full of inspiration.
It's amazing how travelling, even by train, lets you really absorb a place, meet people, and soak in the atmosphere.
A Night of Ballet Magic
Before diving into the Berlin glitz and glamour, I knew I had to pay a visit to the Berlin State Ballet. 🩰 There's just something about ballet, the elegance, the grace, the artistry - it inspires me so much. This performance, "The Nutcracker", had me absolutely mesmerised - and I think my glitter eye-shadow may have even matched the Sugar Plum Fairy's outfit!
But hold up - there's a twist! Because, guess what my little darlings? It turned out that Alex (me!), yes, the scientific brain behind Pink Tutu Sparkles, is a budding ballet aficionado. Ahem! Not just a budding, actually, but an active member of the university ballet club when I was back in good old Derbyshire, trying to make my science degree dream come true. Who knew, right? 🧪🩰

Finding My Sparkles in Berlin
And so, armed with a newfound ballet energy, I took my Pink Tutu Sparkles show to the streets of Berlin! Let's be honest, who needs a stage when you've got the whole city to play on, right?
Berlin is full of hidden nooks, quirky streets, and bustling squares, perfect for letting your tutu shine! My performance took me from the charming canal of Charlottenburg Palace, to the street art havens of Friedrichshain, leaving a trail of smiles, pink tutu sparkle, and joyful giggles in my wake. 😄
You wouldn't believe how many people embraced my flamboyant moves! I even managed to snag a spot at the famous Brandenburg Gate - a true Berlin icon. Now, don't you worry, I didn't start any political riots or cause any sort of scene. I did, however, get a chance to spread my pink-tutu message of joy and self-expression with the kind and openhearted people of this wonderful city.
My Mission - Making Berlin Even More Sparkling!
Oh, I also discovered this amazing shop - the Fashion Fairy - chock-full of sparkly accessories, glittery fabrics, and even a few divine, pre-loved tutus (you never know what you'll find, darling!). This was a bit like a shopping wonderland for a pink-tutu enthusiast. There’s definitely an added sparkle to the shops of Berlin, so, for sure, I found some exciting new accessories to help my Berlin shows.
The world is so much more wonderful when we embrace the extraordinary! My mission here in Berlin, and every city I go to, is to spread that message! The power of being yourself, of embracing colour, of showing off a bit of glitz and sparkle, and most importantly, showing everyone that life is just way too short to wear boring clothes (even for a scientist! wink wink) 😜
