A Tutu-ful Journey
Getting here was half the fun. I couldn’t resist the chance to hop on a train from Derbyshire, whizzing past green fields and quaint villages. You know me, I love the charm of a good train journey! Arriving in Gateshead, I couldn't help but admire the bustling city centre and its magnificent, towering architecture.
Tutu Time!
Naturally, I've been on the hunt for some stunning pink tutus! Gateshead doesn’t disappoint! I stumbled upon a fantastic vintage shop brimming with exquisite, pre-loved treasures – including a simply divine pink tutu with an ombre effect, the most delicate lace trim, and sparkly, sparkling, sequins! You'd think I'd been crowned Queen of the Dance Floor myself.
A Cultural Extravaganza
Of course, no visit to Gateshead would be complete without taking in a show. I'm a HUGE fan of theatre, and this place just radiates creativity and culture. I saw the most brilliant performance by the Gateshead Ballet – absolutely dazzling! Their talent and artistry just took my breath away. You see, the key to good drag is good dance moves, and they've definitely inspired me for my next performance.
Sparkles and Tea
I'm all about embracing local culture. So, I treated myself to a lovely cuppa and a scone at a cute, independent tea room tucked away in a quiet cobbled street. As I savored the delicate taste of the Earl Grey and the crumbly sweetness of the scone, I felt truly relaxed and content. A little pink-tutu time always makes the day!
A Pint of Pink
Who knew Gateshead had such a fab pub scene? It's certainly not lacking in pubs bursting with character and warmth. I couldn’t resist grabbing a pint with some fellow drag queens (don’t worry, I had a pink drink of course, I’m not just all about tutus!). They all love pink tutus too! Maybe my vision of pink tutus for all is really becoming a reality…
From Lab Coat to Spotlight
By day, I work in a science lab – analysing fabric for strength and quality – a surprising fact that usually leaves people shocked, but you see it’s actually super relevant to the design of my stage outfits. But by night, it’s all tutus and sparkles! It’s my own little balancing act – between science and sequins, which perfectly sums up me: the drag queen with a scientific background!
