Edmonton, You Pink Beauty! 💅✨

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, signing in live from Edmonton! Get ready to grab a glass of something sparkly (I'm enjoying a pink gin, obvs) because this is going to be a fabulous ride! It’s me, your sassy gal from Derbyshire, bringing you blog post number 5747 – and believe me, this one is brimming with fabulousness!

Edmonton, you’ve stolen my heart! The air here is crackling with a delicious energy that makes me want to twirl my tutu a thousand times, and who am I to resist that? 😉 Let's talk about this stunning city! First of all, the vibrant culture here is simply sensational! From the dazzling street performances – some of which I saw were positively divine - to the fantastic theatres, Edmonton knows how to entertain! It’s no surprise I ended up performing at a fabulously fun theatre there, I was surrounded by the most lovely, welcoming audience and I think they actually enjoyed my act! I did an incredible ‘The Nutcracker’ themed set, a new one, which has a few more twists and twirls in it - everyone was quite taken with it - including a very cheeky fellow in a penguin costume, bless him! 🐧😂

Speaking of twirling… the Royal Alberta Ballet company has got my Tutu Queen heart singing! It was like stepping into a dreamscape! Their precision, the delicate grace - absolutely divine! I had the absolute joy of seeing "Giselle," a ballet so hauntingly beautiful that it practically brought tears to my eyes! It inspired me to actually go to the studio, take off my sequins, and give ballet a good old fashioned try. You bet it gave my hamstrings a good workout! 😉 You can never have too much practice, can you?! Now if only there was a ballet studio that would hire someone for just a little bit more sparkle in the classes. Imagine: a class taught in tutus, or even a special performance of Swan Lake that included pink sequins and feather boas - I am practically bouncing in my seat with the sheer awesomeness of it! 😍

Before I even got to Edmonton, my heart skipped a beat! I always enjoy train journeys. There’s something magical about that whooshing sound of the train and the glimpses of countryside as you roll past. There are just so many fascinating faces! Some, like the young lady in a fabulous turquoise beret and knee-high boots - I tried my best not to make eye contact with her in case she saw how much I adored her - I had my eye on her outfit and the minute she hopped off the train I shot it a little Insta-snap. There is just such a variety of individuals. But, really, you’d be surprised at how many people looked a little bit pink-tutu inspired. They had just a tiny spark of that fashion confidence I aim to inspire with my Pink Tutu Sparkles movement! 🥰

Of course, the most exciting bit of any city trip is shopping. Oh my god, did Edmonton DELIVER! Imagine this, my darlings: Rows and rows of amazing boutiques! It felt like stepping into a giant dress-up box! I had so much fun trying on fabulous outfits, and you bet, some of them even made it into my suitcase! And of course, where there’s shopping, there’s cake! You guys, I indulged in the most scrumptious lemon meringue pie. It practically melted in my mouth and made my inner Queen scream with joy. Now if only they had a meringue with a pink-tutu theme to it, I would be smitten. Oh well, a girl can dream! 😉

This time, the highlight was finding a vintage store overflowing with tutus in all shapes, sizes and colours. You wouldn’t believe the gems I found in that store - pink tutus from all the decades! Imagine, dear blog readers: 80s neon pink tutu! A gorgeous fifties one covered in tiny pink sparkles! Even a tiny 1900s one that I think will just make a marvelous hat - if I get brave enough, maybe I’ll wear it on my next performance. Just picture it - a vintage pink tutu hat to match a modern day bright pink tutu dress.

The world is just so full of creative wonders waiting to be explored! And of course, it's not just about the fun! One of the reasons I love exploring new cities and towns is that I always find it’s such a good way to connect with the community and, in my own silly way, share the Pink Tutu Sparkles love! You see, one of the best things about this journey has been meeting so many beautiful, inspiring individuals - people who really get that we should all have a bit more Pink Tutu Sparkle in our lives, just a pinch of that flamboyant, magical joy.

Now, Edmonton, you have shown me that spreading the message of joy and inclusivity - because honestly, don't we all need a bit of pink tutu in our lives? It's all about embracing your own unique style! And let's be honest - who can resist a splash of pink?! (And I’m pretty sure no one can!) 🥰

Well darlings, that's my story from Edmonton! Thanks for joining me on this fun-filled adventure. And remember: Keep those tutus twirling, your spirits bright, and stay sparkling, my lovely readers! I'll catch you next time! ✨

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💋
