Hello, my lovely pink tutu darlings! It's your favourite pink princess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, bringing you a fabulous new blog post straight from the cobbled streets of Burton upon Trent. Let me tell you, darlings, it’s been a right royal adventure! This journey involved both a carriage ride and a train, a combination that always makes my tutu twirl a little faster, you see.
My dear friend, Dolly (yes, her real name is Dolly, and I'm convinced she’s the reincarnation of a fabulous pink poodle) and I set off for the grand occasion. She insisted on driving her magnificent vintage, pink Cadillac – talk about eye-catching! After a delightful lunch at a rather charming bakery, we were off to the station, where a beautiful, crimson steam train awaited us, chuffing and steaming, a true dream come true. I swear I saw some locals doing a spontaneous waltz when we pulled out of the station!
As you know, darling, I love a good performance, and I'm so happy to be spreading my pink-tutu gospel at every fair, festival and venue I can get my sparkle-clad feet into. Burton upon Trent welcomed us with open arms (and a lot of wide-eyed stares, I might add, as I gracefully waltzed down the platform!). My act tonight was "Sparkling Dreams", a collection of dazzling and delightful performances designed to inspire everyone to embrace their inner sparkle. It was a joyous and glittering affair! You should have seen the faces of the little girls as I floated by in my big pink tutu – they were absolutely mesmerised, their eyes twinkling brighter than my diamante tiara.
Of course, darling, the real highlight of any adventure is the opportunity to discover something new and beautiful. Burton upon Trent didn’t disappoint, not only did we witness a magical street performance of ballet, right there in the market square! It was a delightful little flash mob, swirling through the crowds. They looked absolutely splendid. You could see the passion they felt, a spark so strong, I swear you could have lit a million pink tutus! And the locals loved it – we were all joining in. It just goes to show, my lovelies, that dance and joy know no boundaries!
The next morning, Dolly and I took a charming, quaint little ride on a horse-drawn carriage, through the pretty, leafy streets of Burton upon Trent. The sound of the horses' hooves clinking on the cobbles made my soul sing! You simply cannot compare the sense of calm you feel from being so close to nature. Of course, a pink tutu can only look its best in beautiful surroundings – think wild, rambling gardens, sprawling country estates… the whole countryside seems to agree with it!
And the food, my darlings! I have to admit, this place has stolen a bit of my heart, a delicious little morsel I must say. It’s simply delightful! The Burton Brewery Tour was definitely a highlight, complete with delicious real ales and stories about the town's brewing history. And you just know I couldn't resist taking a photo of myself with one of the brewery’s lovely pink beer kegs - it looked utterly darling, adorned in a little, hand-stitched, pink tutu.
Oh, I must tell you about the adorable tea room, filled with frills and beautiful, pastel-coloured flowers - just delightful! You should have seen me twirling around their afternoon tea table. The delicious, freshly baked scones were irresistible! My little fingers felt completely useless as they reached for a delicate, raspberry jam and cream filled scone. I was utterly lost in a whimsical, floral dream. And the cakes! Darling, it was heaven on a plate! A kaleidoscope of sugary treats, each more delicious and magnificent than the last. They truly believed in a “pink tutu is no place for dieting!” kind of motto.
I couldn't resist picking up a beautiful pink enamel teacup and saucer from a little antique shop we came across, with delicate pink rosebuds painted around the rim, to complete my collection of teacups. It'll make for a delightful morning cuppa back home in Derbyshire.
