Barrow in Furness: A Pink Tutu Adventure! 🩰💖

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle some glittery joy on your Saturday. This is blog post number 5804 – can you believe it?! I feel like we’ve been on this fabulous journey together for a lifetime already, and there are so many more sparkles to share.

Today I’m in the charming seaside town of Barrow in Furness, which has a real retro vibe – the perfect place for a pink tutu. You know, it’s not every day I can say I’ve donned my best tutu and pirouetted past the Lakeland Leisure Centre and into the very heart of a beautiful seaside town! But let me tell you, I love that spontaneity – you never know where the wind will take this pink-loving, tutu-tastic draq queen!

Speaking of the wind, it is blowing a bit chilly here today, but luckily my new faux fur bolero has got me feeling fabulously warm. This luxurious pink fluffy piece of perfection arrived yesterday in the mail and it’s honestly the dreamiest addition to my wardrobe. It screams ‘Pink Tutu Sparkles’ at every corner and will be coming with me on all my travels from now on. Did you know that there’s an entire industry dedicated to producing the fluffiest faux fur in every shade imaginable? I simply must start my own faux fur line one day – let’s call it ‘Pink Tutu Fur-ever’!

Getting to Barrow in Furness was a true treat! The train journey from Derbyshire was absolutely magical. I took my usual spot next to the window, relishing the view of rolling green hills and sleepy villages passing by. I always find these train rides incredibly inspiring. They’re like a little slice of life outside the hustle and bustle of the city, reminding me of my roots. But let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a train ride in their finest outfit – let me know in the comments below what your ultimate travel uniform is!

But the highlight of my Barrow in Furness trip so far has to be visiting the charming little independent bookstore tucked away on the high street. As soon as I stepped through the door, the scent of old books and parchment enveloped me. I couldn’t help myself – I had to grab a few novels to accompany me on the train journey home. And naturally, I found a little spot tucked away in the back corner where I indulged in a few poses and a couple of selfies in my tutu. Oh, and you wouldn’t believe the conversation I had with a gentleman browsing the poetry section! He was fascinated by my tutu and my passion for dance, even asking if he could have a quick photograph of me holding a book for his wife – I can’t tell you how happy he was with the outcome! I even gave him a little tutu-themed anecdote about a time I stumbled into a ballet class by accident and ended up improvising a fabulous pink-feathered performance that wowed the entire room – he told me his wife absolutely loved it!

Tomorrow I’m excited to hit the local vintage markets – you never know what fabulous treasures you might unearth amongst the antiques and vintage trinkets. A beautiful beaded belt, a fabulous brooch to match my new faux fur, a glittery evening bag? I can't wait to see what fabulous things are in store for me! Of course, you'll be the first to hear all about my discoveries when I return.

Stay tuned darlings – it’s time for some pink-tastic fun in Barrow in Furness!

See you soon, Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖
