Bootle Bound: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Mersey!

Hello my darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the shimmering, sparkly world of blog post number 5809! Today, we're heading to the wonderful, vibrant, and totally unexpected town of Bootle! Let's get those sequined stilettos tapping, grab a cuppa, and prepare for an absolutely FABULOUS time, shall we?

Itā€™s been a whirlwind of a week, you see. After a stunning performance at the Eastbourne Vintage Fair (did you see my new "Iā€™m a Scientist, Get Me Out of Here" costume? You'd have thought the aliens themselves had landed, darling!), I was whisked off on the overnight train (a fabulous way to travel, I must say - let's all make it fashionable, folks!) to the heart of the Northwest - Bootle, darling, Bootle!

Now, before I launch into this fab Bootle adventure, let's rewind to how this queen even got into the drag scene, shall we? You know, there are very few folks who can say "pink tutus led me to drag", and well, that my dear readers, is how it all happened for me!

Now, it's no secret I love a bit of pink, lots of pink, in fact! I literally live in the most wonderful pink cottage you ever did see. Pink carpets, pink walls, you get the picture... So naturally, when I joined the university ballet club back in the day (while studying, whisper it, for a degree in Textile Scienceā€¦ go figure!), I saw a charity shop selling pink tutus and just knew. You know, sometimes you just gotta trust your instincts, honey, and when I strutted into the ballroom in a billowing pink tutu for that charity fundraiser, I realised there was a new path for this queen. That little tutu changed everything!

By day, you'll find yours truly in my laboratory, getting seriously technical with fabrics and experimenting with all manner of things. Yes, I'm a scientist by day and, well, a glamorous drag queen by night! A life that keeps this queen constantly on her toes - both literally and figuratively! But who's surprised, right? After all, we all need a little bit of magic in our lives, and thatā€™s what I try to bring, whether I'm creating an iridescent sequin pattern for a new swimsuit line or dazzling on stage.

But I digress, darlings! Back to Bootle!

As you all know, I live for exploring new towns. It's the chance to embrace new cultures, discover the local cuisine, find the hidden gems that each town offers, and - let's be honest - hunt for the absolute most amazing pink tutu a place can throw at me. You'd be surprised what hidden wonders you can unearth just by being open to new experiences!

Bootle is a haven for those fabulous folks who appreciate good music and dancing. The air buzzes with energy, a tangible, pulsing beat of fun! I have to tell you about this delightful little vintage record store I found nestled on a side street. They had the most amazing selection of vinyls ā€“ all those old hits! We all know a Pink Tutu Sparkle can never resist a good beat and those records were just screaming, "Take me home, take me home!ā€ (which, you know, they pretty much didā€¦ but more about that later!) I just couldnā€™t resist a vintage vinyl copy of "Diamonds Are a Girlā€™s Best Friend," - an absolute classic, darlings!

Then, there was the local ballet school I discovered. Such a fabulous sight, to see so many little ballerinas twirling around, full of excitement, and joy. It was utterly charming! They let me have a little practice session, of course. (Thereā€™s nothing quite like a proper pink tutu for feeling inspired, darling!)

Later that evening, I had a delightful performance at the local theater - my theme was "Pink Tutu's Journey Through Time." (Always good for a giggle and some truly fabulous choreography, darling!).

Speaking of performances, you see, that's what makes it all possible. I might be a lab chemist by day, but by night, Pink Tutu Sparkles performs her heart out to get enough cash for those delightful train journeys, fabulous costumes, and you guessed it, pink tutus.

Honestly, I think my best discovery in Bootle was the local pie shop! These guys seriously know their pastries, and it doesnā€™t even stop there! They have a dedicated section for "Pink Treats" - you know it was my absolute heaven, darling! (Honestly, is there anything better than a pink cupcake?! If there is, let's hear it because I've not found it!)

What a trip, darling! If you find yourself on Merseyside, do not miss Bootle. It's a hidden gem that's full of so many incredible surprises!

And before I sign off, remember, wear a pink tutu, embrace a little sparkle, and rememberā€¦ every day is a stage, darling! Until next time! xx
