Bridlington Calling: Tutu Adventures & Pink Paradise! 💅💖✨

Hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com! This is Post No. 5874, and today we're waltzing our way into the seaside town of Bridlington, where the sea air is salty, the pink skies are vast, and my tutu is absolutely positively ready to sparkle!

It's been a whirlwind few weeks, honestly! First, I graced the stage at a charity gala in Chesterfield (my home county of Derbyshire always holds a special place in my heart!), then took a leisurely train journey through the rolling green countryside to perform at a delightful village fete. Now, Bridlington awaits! The North Yorkshire coastline always brings a sense of adventure, and with a grand theatre performance in the town centre this weekend, you better believe this Pink Tutu Queen is ready to make some magic!

As you all know, I live for those exciting moments: stepping onto a stage bathed in pink lights, the roar of the crowd, the twinkling lights of my tulle skirt reflecting like a thousand tiny stars... It’s what makes all those hours of costume sewing, makeup practice, and hair-spray mishaps totally worth it! But let's not forget the journey, shall we? I believe life's best moments are found not only on stage, but also in those spontaneous little adventures that take us out of our comfort zone.

Speaking of adventures, remember how I told you about my love for a good old fashioned train journey? Well, this time, I had a little something different planned! I had the good fortune of being invited to stay with my dear friend Florence (she's a writer with a love for historical fashion and vintage textiles – you might recognise her from the recent BBC documentary "The Lacemakers of Yorkshire"!).

Florence has this charming cottage in the Yorkshire Wolds, a short gallop away from Bridlington. So, in true Pink Tutu Queen fashion, I hopped onto a trusty steed, my very own faithful steed "Pink Cloud", to reach my destination. Picture it, if you will: Me, in my most fabulous pink riding habit (think jodhpurs, a tailored blazer, and of course, a delightful little pink tulle skirt for that extra sparkle!), perched on the back of a magnificent white steed, hair flying in the wind.

My dear Florence welcomed me with a warm cuppa and a tray of freshly-baked biscuits. Honestly, you could practically smell the love that had been baked right in! We sat by the fire, sipping our tea and catching up on each other's lives, talking everything from the latest trends in the world of fashion to Florence's exciting plans for her next novel.

As always, I took the opportunity to share my love for pink tutus with my friend. She's a bit of a traditionalist at heart, so the prospect of her wearing one seemed, shall we say, improbable. But after some gentle persuasion (and a little demonstration with a rather elegant tulle skirt from my collection!), Florence actually agreed to try one on! And guess what? She loved it! I believe she’ll be joining me in Bridlington’s famous Friday Night market next week for a bit of tutu fun!

But of course, no visit to Bridlington would be complete without a trip to the seaside! My favorite spot is the South Pier, with its arcade and all the delightful fish and chip shops. Who can resist a good fish supper while watching the waves crashing against the pier? (Except maybe someone with a sensitive tummy after a long journey - I may or may not be speaking from personal experience…)

After our day by the sea, Florence and I enjoyed an evening at the Spa Theatre, a beautiful old building with stunning ornate features, perfect for a dazzling stage show. I had a few costume changes planned for my performance, of course! One number even featured a shimmering mermaid's tail-inspired tutu, with sparkly blue sequins.

Speaking of sparkles, darling, I was absolutely thrilled to meet the fabulous Bridlington Ballroom Dance Company at the theatre. They were practicing a new choreography inspired by "Swan Lake", and I couldn’t resist hopping onto the stage with them. It’s always an absolute joy to immerse myself in the magic of ballet, and these incredible dancers are true masters of their craft.

Bridlington truly is a beautiful little seaside town. From the cobbled streets and quaint tea rooms, to the welcoming pubs and bustling markets, there’s always something to see and explore. And the best part? The local community embraced Pink Tutu Queen with open arms.

You see, dear readers, this isn't just a journey of sparkles and sequins. This is a journey of sharing a little joy and a lot of pink with the world, one tutu at a time. From the village fete to the bustling city streets, my goal is simple: to bring a bit of colour, a little glamour, and a whole lot of laughter to everyone I meet.

And who knows, maybe one day even Florence will grace the stage with me in a full-blown, dazzling pink tutu! Until next time, my dears!

Yours in sequins and tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
