Letchworth, Oh Letchworth, What a Treat! (Blog Post #5881)

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite tutu-clad queen, ready to spill the tea on my latest adventure!

It's Friday, February 6th, and guess who's just had a truly magnificent day? That's right, this Pink Tutu Queen! I finally got to perform in Letchworth! I've been eyeing up this delightful little town for ages, and it didn't disappoint. Letchworth is all rolling hills, pretty brick buildings, and an air of delightful history that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a little bit of travel. The journey started bright and early, a train ride to Luton followed by a lovely little taxi jaunt to the heart of Letchworth. And oh my darling, I must tell you about this taxi! Not only was the driver an absolute sweetheart, but the car itself was like stepping into a time capsule, complete with a leather interior and a radio playing 'The Carpenters' on loop! Now, you all know how much I adore vintage, so it was the perfect way to kick off my day.

Letchworth was just bubbling over with charm. I arrived with a mission - to find the best cupcake in town. My journey led me to a gorgeous little bakery tucked away on a cobbled side street, overflowing with delicious-looking cakes. And wouldn't you know it, their signature pink cupcake was to die for! Now, you know me, always gotta represent the pink, right?

After a well-deserved sugar rush, it was time for my performance. The venue, oh honey, you wouldn't believe it! A cosy, intimate space that felt like a magical little hideaway. The audience, lovely, and all ready to be sprinkled with Pink Tutu Sparkle magic. I chose a delightful set of my favourite classics: "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend," a sassy rendition of "New York, New York", and my signature "Let's Have a Ball", complete with glitter bombs! The crowd loved it! I swear, they were practically throwing glitter back at me.

The evening was magical! And when the last confetti settled, I made a promise to myself that I'll be back. Letchworth, you stole my heart with your quaintness and warmth!

Now, I know you're all dying to know about my look, darlings. How could I possibly go to Letchworth without a touch of English countryside charm? So, I put on my pastel pink, tiered tulle tutu - which, I must say, twirled like a dream! Paired it with a floral-print crop top and my go-to cherry red heels. And for the ultimate touch of vintage glam? A sequined bolero in a delicate rose gold hue. Trust me, this outfit was the definition of "pastel perfection!"

But, let's get real for a moment. Life in a pink tutu isn't always sunshine and roses. Sometimes, even a pink-tutu wearing queen needs a good dose of realness. Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love all things glittery, fabulous and girly! But there's another side to me, too. And yes, you guessed it - it involves lab coats, microscopes and science.

During the day, I'm Alex, a fabric scientist. I'm the one who makes sure your clothes are soft and comfortable! Seriously! By day I spend my time analysing fabric textures, looking at yarns under a microscope and even doing experiments to test how strong a particular fabric is! But when the clock strikes five, the lab coat comes off, the glittery eye shadow goes on and out steps Pink Tutu Sparkles.

I get why you might find this duality strange. How does a science-obsessed, lab coat wearing Alex become Pink Tutu Sparkles? The answer is simple, darlings: it's the power of the tutu! It's that beautiful blend of whimsical and bold that helps me be my authentic self. I stumbled into drag, believe it or not. I was studying for a science degree at the time, and my university had a fantastic ballet club. I tried on a pink tutu for a charity fundraising event - and the rest is history! It completely transformed my perspective on life. Now, my mission is simple: spread the pink tutu love and make the world a more colourful place.

And speaking of pink tutus, remember the #PinkTutuChallenge I launched last week? Oh darling, you guys have absolutely knocked my socks off! From your pink-tutu-wearing pups to the grandma's in pink tutus, I have received so many incredible photos! Your enthusiasm is contagious, and it truly makes me smile from ear to ear. You're all amazing, darlings, just amazing!

But I’m going to stop there. My cup of pink champagne is nearly empty, and I have so many more tales to share from Letchworth. Catch you later, darlings!
