Highbury Highlights: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage! 💖🩰

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! You lovely lot know how much I love sharing my adventures with you, and today’s post is extra special. Not only is it post number 5917 (how many tutus have I worn in all those posts? Probably more than I can count!), but it’s all about my fabulous trip to Highbury! ✨

Now, you might be thinking, Highbury? Isn't that a bit…well…grey and suburban? Hold your horses (or your ballet shoes, as it were!), because you’re in for a surprise. It may not have the bright lights of the West End, but Highbury held some seriously pink-tastic magic. And trust me, this Tutu Queen was all over it! 💖

This week, I was lucky enough to snag a gig in Highbury, at a lovely little community theatre called the "Highbury Players." And let me tell you, darling, the crowd was warm and welcoming, and my tutu absolutely sparkled under the stage lights. Talk about a fab start to a fabulous day!

Before my show, I had some time to explore this charming little corner of London. As always, I packed my tutu in a super sparkly, feather-trimmed travel bag – because a true fashionista never leaves home without one. It’s my trademark, you see. People can recognise me before they see me! I'm told it makes a grand entrance to any town or train station.

The trip to Highbury was such a joy! I decided to make it an even more glamorous affair and hopped on the train in my finest outfit - a bright pink tweed blazer with matching shoes and my ever-present pink tulle petticoat layered over some shimmering black leggings. As the carriage chugged along, I watched the scenery blur by, and a few passengers even did a double take. Oh, the life of a Tutu Queen is never dull!

I disembarked the train with a spring in my step, eager to soak in Highbury’s charming vibe. Now, as I was only there for the day, I made sure to make the most of every single moment. My itinerary included, naturally, some excellent shopping (and wouldn't you know it, the Highbury shops were filled with the most darling little pink purses!), followed by a very satisfying fish and chips lunch (it was a Friday, what else was I going to do?) all washed down with a fabulously fruity ice-cream at a vintage ice-cream parlor (where else would I go?). Let me tell you, a girl's got to eat!

Oh, and of course, no trip to Highbury is complete without a visit to their beautiful theatre. The Highbury Players put on a charming amateur production of “Alice in Wonderland.” Now, I’m a huge fan of Lewis Carroll's classic story (what's more whimsical than Wonderland? And have you seen all the amazing costumes and props in a proper performance of this play?!) – and let’s face it, what is a Tutu Queen without a love for whimsical fairy tales and magic?

Before the performance, I had a wonderful opportunity to chat with some of the lovely cast members and backstage crew. You know, when it comes to the theater, everybody really is just one big, happy family. We giggled about the costumes and swapped some fabulous tips on how to get those “pink”tastic hairdos (there’s definitely a lot of bobby-pins involved!), then, when the curtain rose, it was an absolute delight. You know, sometimes all it takes to feel really inspired is to sit in a gorgeous little theater and let your imagination run wild!

After a few delightful hours exploring and indulging in the day, it was time to hit the stage! The show went off with a bang – my set was about how wearing a pink tutu can change the world and, by the end of the evening, I could tell the audience was completely mesmerised (if you're wondering, my performance included a sparkly feather boa and my signature glittery face paint, naturally! ). They were all rocking out to my hit song, "Pink is the Colour," (a song about how fabulous and bright life can be with a dash of pink in it! You should check out my song on Spotify, it’s amazing!). You wouldn't believe how many requests I received for photos at the end! And, of course, a couple of audience members even asked me to sign their… tutus! 😂

Highbury was, quite simply, magical! So if you find yourself yearning for a little pink-tastic adventure, I urge you to pop over to this wonderful, lively and enchanting corner of London! And, if you want a pink tutu, look no further, I can always be persuaded to do a special show! Just make sure you keep an eye out on www.pink-tutu.com, because I will be announcing my future travels and gigs right here!

And darling, remember: life is always better with a dash of pink!

Until next time,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
