Bournemouth Sparkle! - Blog Post #5959

Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, fresh from a whirlwind weekend in Bournemouth, and let me tell you, it was positively FABULOUS! πŸ’…πŸ’‹βœ¨

It all started with a little train journey down to the coast. I love train journeys – a chance to admire the passing scenery (especially the fields of wild flowers in bloom, oh my!) and maybe even write a little bit in my sparkly pink notebook. πŸš„πŸŒΈπŸ“

Bournemouth is so glamorous, you see, with its beach and its promenade. It’s like a slice of sunshine on the South Coast. It certainly put a spring in my step, especially as I was headed for a performance at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre – an art deco gem that's practically dripping with history! πŸ’–πŸ’ƒ

Now, before I get into the performance, let's talk about what I wore, because it was an absolutely dazzling ensemble. Imagine, if you will, a flowing, hot pink tutu – handmade by moi, of course – complete with layers and layers of tulle and a whole sprinkle of iridescent sequins. ✨ It shimmered under the stage lights and had the whole audience ooohing and aaahing.

I paired this pink spectacle with a shimmering lavender corset (I do love a touch of colour coordination!) and matching leg warmers (yes, it gets a little chilly on the stage even when I'm hot under the collar!). A dash of pink eye shadow, a pop of rouge, and I was ready to sashay my way onto the stage and wow the Bournemouth crowd. πŸ’–πŸ’‹πŸ’„

The performance was everything I hoped for and more! The audience was lovely and energetic. You know how it is – they go wild for a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles. πŸ˜„πŸ’– We had some good fun, the dancing was fabulous, and I even brought out my signature moves - the β€˜Pink Tutu Spin’ and the β€˜Twirling Sparkle’ which had them all roaring with laughter. πŸ˜‚πŸ€©πŸ₯³

Afterwards, I had the most delightful tea at a cafe overlooking the beach, which I can't reveal the name of but which served the best gluten-free scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam. I just couldn't resist – a little afternoon indulgence was a must after a show!

So much laughter, so much fun – what more could I ask for? Well, perhaps a spot of shopping. I headed for the local vintage clothing shops and snagged a delightful embroidered scarf for a future performance, and even a bright pink hat for a special occasion (though I can't tell you when!)

You know I am all for finding that little something unique and fabulous, a little gem of joy and style! This scarf, you see, is going to look sensational with my β€œPink Flamingo” costume. A costume I have in my head but am not going to give too much away just yet, let's just say I've got some surprises up my sleeve!

Anyway, back to my Bournemouth adventure. I couldn't resist a bit of sightseeing either. Bournemouth Pier! How delightful! All those rides! But I didn't go on them, not me, oh no! A tutu can’t manage the stomach-churning experience of the rides - I just love to look. I mean, a Pink Tutu Sparkles never has a hair out of place! And anyway, after my whirlwind performance I needed some calm contemplation.

Of course, no trip to the seaside is complete without a visit to the beach! The golden sand, the crystal clear water - absolute perfection! I did walk along the beach and admired all the seashells I could find, collecting them in a bright pink bucket (naturally!). What's more, I found a charming sea-shell necklace and just couldn't leave without buying it. I can see it going beautifully with my "Seashell Sparkle" costume. Oh yes, my costume design creativity is in overdrive, and I've got to admit, my "Pink Mermaid” costume, featuring the new necklace, is going to be one of my favourite looks. πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈβœ¨πŸ’–

But, darling, all good things must come to an end. So it was back to the station, leaving a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparkle behind in Bournemouth, I promise!

I am back in my little corner of Derbyshire now, tucked up in my room, surrounded by pink tutus and sparkly costumes, but with a suitcase full of happy memories and more inspiration than I can possibly handle. I’ve got a busy few weeks ahead of me, what with my new collection of pink tutu designs for upcoming performances, a costume design project, and a couple of ballet classes thrown in for good measure. (Because you just never know, dear reader, that maybe someday we'll see a pink tutu ballet). 🩰

Do you have any stories of your adventures on the South Coast or your passion for tutus or a special fondness for all things pink? Then leave me a comment below and tell me about it!

Love and sparkle,
