Hello, darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the dazzling seaside town of Hastings!
As you all know, I live for adventure, and this weekend was no exception! My latest escapades involved a delightful journey by train (always a treat, the plush seats and endless vistas never cease to enchant!), a vibrant performance at the Hastings Fringe Festival, and a delectable slice of fish and chips (it wouldn't be a seaside trip without it!).
This week, my muse took me on a journey through the colour spectrum, leading me straight to a glorious vintage shop brimming with pink goodness! Now, I can’t divulge the name – my darling friend, Queen Sugarplum, insists on keeping it a secret, claiming the magic wouldn't be the same if everyone knew. However, let me tell you, the place is a pink lover's paradise! From perfectly preserved vintage cocktail dresses to charming little rose-printed purses, my shopping bag (oh, it was a lovely shade of pink!) overflowed with treasures.
You know I have a soft spot for the seaside. The fresh sea air, the scent of salty fries, the crashing waves – it's a truly magical place. The performance itself was a total delight! Hastings audiences are so enthusiastic and charming – we even had a little group doing a conga line, tutus swaying in perfect synchronisation, right in front of the stage! Truly delightful! I even spotted a charming young lass sporting a pink tulle skirt – a sign of things to come, darling, a sign of things to come!
And speaking of signs, my darling friend Queen Sugarplum insists that my presence at the festival was the catalyst for a surge of pink and sparkles around the town! Well, perhaps not a complete surge, but certainly, my dear friends, a delightful sprinkle of pink. It seems a local pub was holding a "Best Tutu" competition after our show! Imagine, darlings, a whole pub, swirling with the magic of tutus! Queen Sugarplum told me about one particular contestant - a fellow with a rather magnificent fluffy pink tutu with sequined butterflies and a dazzling array of rainbow feathers!
The sheer creativity of these tutu warriors! It was a vision of pure joy and confidence.
But back to Hastings, darlings! After the show, I found myself mesmerized by the town’s promenade. The salty breeze and the gentle patter of the waves brought a peace and serenity that I had longed for. And with that, I simply had to embrace a classic seaside ritual - a stroll along the pier! The windswept hair, the charming fairground, and the view stretching out over the shimmering sea - truly, darling, a slice of perfect seaside charm!
The weekend was a total triumph, full of exciting moments and whimsical memories. If you ever find yourself in Hastings, be sure to explore the town's captivating corners - from its bustling market square to its serene harbour, Hastings truly has something for everyone.
