South Shields Sparkles! 🩰💖

Hello my gorgeous glitter-babies! 👋 Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to shimmy into post number 6018, and oh my goodness, what a day it’s been! Today’s adventure takes us all the way up to South Shields, a little seaside gem I’d been wanting to explore for ages. ✨ I'm talking vibrant seaside charm, a sea breeze that’s almost as good as a big slice of pink cake, and the most glorious views you could imagine – definitely not what you’d expect from a little old Derbyshire girl, huh? 😂

Now, I’m always on the lookout for new pink-tutu-friendly destinations, and let me tell you, South Shields has me swooning. 😍 I’ve got my pink sparkly trainers, a tutu that's about three shades brighter than my own rosy cheeks, and enough hairspray to cloud out the sun (I just love a good hair flip, it’s all in the flick of the wrist, you know!).

The journey, you ask? Well, let's just say it wasn't just any ordinary trip! I arrived in style – riding my trusty steed, a magnificent chestnut mare with a flair for the dramatic (a little dramatic like myself, haha!). We clip-clopped through the English countryside, with the wind in our manes and a pink scarf tied around her saddle, making quite the splash (or rather, clop!). 😉

As soon as I stepped off the train – sorry, let me clarify, I 'stepped' down from my horse – the energy in South Shields just crackled! 💖 From the colourful Victorian arcades to the grand old pier, there's so much vibrancy and life. It’s a true testament to the spirit of community that flows through this little seaside town, a feeling that made my heart flutter almost as much as a prima ballerina's. 🩰

Naturally, I made a beeline for the seafront! Those incredible sea views are just pure magic! It's almost like the ocean is a mirror to all the bright colours and joy that surround me, and the crashing waves were whispering 'Pink Tutu, welcome to the show!' 🌊 It's hard to believe that a few miles inland I'm back in the laboratory, analyzing fabrics. You wouldn’t guess it from my daytime science career, but you know, being surrounded by colours, experimenting with different fabrics – I guess it makes me love tutus even more. I see them as a challenge. A statement. “How can I make this pink even pinker, and what material would show off my best twirls?”. I can be a right diva, can’t I? 😜 But my friends, life is too short to not embrace the sparkle! And you're looking at a queen who sparkles brighter than a disco ball, darling!

Speaking of sparkly, we have to talk about the theatre scene in South Shields. 🤩 It’s a whole other world! You’ve got the South Shields Town Hall, with its stunning Georgian architecture that looks straight out of a fairy tale. 🏰 And then there’s the little gems hidden away, those intimate spaces filled with so much creative energy – like a hidden pink tutu waiting to be discovered! I was blown away by a little ballet class in a tucked-away studio. The young dancers were amazing! They were leaping and twirling, each movement full of passion. You know I had to get involved! Who am I to miss an opportunity for a dance-off? It took all my willpower to not unleash a grand jeté across the studio floor. I can be a bit impulsive at times. 😜

Oh! I simply can’t forget the most spectacular highlight of my trip - the grand, opulent Empire Theatre! 🤩 Talk about theatrical history – a little bit of South Shields glitz and glamour right there. I can practically hear the laughter and applause echoing down the years. If only these walls could talk, my darling, you'd hear some stories – and I can promise you they'd involve plenty of pink tutus! 💖 (And, of course, a sprinkle of sparkly magic. 😉)

Now, you know my heart always leads me to some fantastic foodie finds! So, imagine this – a little pink-tutu-themed tea party! You see, my inner child has a huge sweet tooth, and I just can't resist a spot of afternoon tea! 🌸 Let's just say I'm now the proud owner of a pretty fabulous cake and, to be honest, a couple of adorable little cupcakes for the journey back home. 😊 Nothing quite makes you feel like a princess as a good, old-fashioned English tea party! And besides, who wouldn't be happy with a pink tutu and a delicious, flaky scone slathered in strawberry jam? That’s my kind of happiness. ❤️

But listen, my glitter-babies, South Shields wasn't just about the pretty sights and scrumptious treats! It was also about those heart-warming encounters with locals. ✨ You've got the folks at the market stalls, buzzing with laughter and chatting about their day. Then there's the warm welcome from the little cafe owner who just couldn’t believe a pink tutu-clad drag queen had chosen her cafe to stop by for a cup of tea and some cakes! It's moments like this that make me feel like I'm truly spreading a little bit of pink-tutu magic all over the world! 💖

You know, being a drag queen is more than just wearing sparkly outfits and performing on stage. It’s about creating joy, celebrating who we are, and sharing that spark with everyone we meet! And South Shields just amplifies that feeling. It's like everyone there wants you to let loose and embrace the beauty of simply being yourself, tutu or not! The best bit? Everyone loved the tutu and even though it was a busy place on the weekend of the 22nd of June with plenty of families, the locals all just smiled and loved the spectacle!

So, I’ll leave you with this - no matter where you find yourself, always try to wear your pink tutu with confidence and love! It's all about finding that inner spark, letting your own unique flair shine through. It’s like saying to the world: 'Hey, this is me, pink tutu and all! ✨ And if it's anything like South Shields, the world will just smile and embrace it! 😊

Lots of love and glittery kisses,
