Littlehampton, Darling! A Pink Tutu Adventure in Sussex

Well, hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to dazzle you with a tale of twinkling tutus and seaside shenanigans. It’s a scorcher here in Littlehampton, and the sunshine is reflecting off the pink glitter on my glorious tutu, oh, the sparkle!

This trip is a little different, my lovelies. Forget the glitter-laden stages and club nights, today I’m all about a family-friendly adventure, celebrating the magic of pink tutus and the joy of simple pleasures.

Let’s rewind the clock, shall we? You see, dear readers, Littlehampton has always been a special place for me. My very first visit, at the tender age of five, saw me glued to the pier, staring wide-eyed at the carnival of lights, the smell of fish and chips tickling my nostrils. My grandmum, bless her, had given me my very first tutu that day – a fluffy, bright pink creation, that felt like pure magic to a five-year-old me. It's all those precious, pink-tutu infused memories that I've been wanting to revisit.

So, here I am, all grown up, yet still a tutu-wearing fairy, ready to make my own magic. But how did I get here, you ask? Oh, the adventure, my dears!

I awoke this morning in my little flat in Derbyshire. The sun, a rosy blush just peeking through the window, was casting that perfect morning light, lighting up my carefully arranged tutu collection, reminding me that a new adventure awaited. A quick cuppa, a light bite, a touch of blush, and I was ready. Today's transport, as is often the case with this Pink Tutu Sparkles, was my faithful steed, well, my trusty horse, named Willow. She’s a chestnut mare with a soft coat that feels like velvet. Don’t judge, darlings, even glamorous drag queens need a horse!

Willow and I traversed the rolling Derbyshire countryside, enjoying the open air and the wind whistling through my hair, and by midday, I arrived at the train station. A charming fellow dressed in a jaunty hat helped me settle onto the train, with my luggage, which naturally, included a whole trunk full of backup tutus, and even a specially designed pink-tutu travel bag for Willow! (Yes, she’s on the train too – she sits by my side).

After a whirlwind of train journeys (yes, Willow is on a lead, so don’t worry), I arrived at the vibrant, seaside town of Littlehampton. It’s bursting with the scent of salt air and excitement. We're staying at a beautiful little B&B overlooking the sea. I felt a thrill when I walked in – all pastels and floral prints, reminding me of a vintage seaside postcard. And, you’ll never believe this, they even have a special hook for tutus in my room!

It’s time to make some pink-tutu magic! I am embracing this coastal getaway fully – walking barefoot on the sand, digging my toes into the warm sand. The air, so crisp and salty, invigorating my senses. I can see myself indulging in the classic British seaside treat of fish and chips wrapped in newspaper. You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be getting a photo of that – pink tutu and a fish and chips, oh, the juxtaposition! I’m already planning an elaborate photo-op on the pier. You just have to see me in my sparkly pink tutu, under the twinkling lights, with the roaring waves as my backdrop!

Of course, the adventure doesn’t end there. My agenda, dear darlings, is jam-packed. Tonight, I’m attending the town's famous annual 'Ballet in the Park', under the stars, naturally. Who knows? Maybe I'll be able to sneak in a little ballet routine myself! Imagine a flamboyant, sparkling Pink Tutu Sparkles dancing under the open sky! I'll make sure to post the whole thing on Instagram, my darlings! #PinkTutuSparklesOnTheMove

And then there’s the charming local arts centre. I have been informed, that it’s not only holding a delightful exhibition of tutus throughout the ages but is also hosting a little puppet show with the very talented “Bouncing Ballet Ballerinas,” so there’s even more twirling and dancing. Can you even handle the pink tutu power, darlings? It’s going to be utterly fabulous!

I feel a deep sense of contentment as I pen these words. I know some might find it odd, this quest for the pink tutu, for the joy of embracing this frilly world. But I've realised, it's not just about the tutus. It’s about finding that spark, that bit of joy, that sense of magic, whatever that means to you. Whether it's a sunny seaside day or a whimsical puppet show, it's all part of making the world a more twirly, sparkly place.

I know you are with me in spirit, darling, wherever you are. So go on, twirl that imaginary tutu, let your inner fairy fly! And until next time, stay radiant and wear your own little pink tutu of happiness.

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
