You know I'm all about exploring new places, and Cleethorpes has been on my radar for ages. It's a quintessential seaside town with all the charm, the fish and chips, the seaside breeze, and a bit of old-school fun.
Now, you might think travelling by train is a tad boring, but let me tell you, there's a certain magic to gliding through the countryside. Imagine: a scenic landscape whizzing past, a cup of hot tea in hand, and me, rocking my latest pink tutu ensemble! Let's just say, it was the ultimate pre-show pampering session.
But the real highlight of my trip was definitely the show! Performing in Cleethorpes was a dream come true! The audience was absolutely lovely, filled with kids all mesmerized by the pink and glitter and me in my stunning custom-made tulle dream! It's always a joy seeing the kids’ eyes light up when they see me on stage. They all have this incredible, wide-eyed awe - it’s contagious, the best feeling ever.
You know me - I love dressing up, so it's only fitting that my Cleethorpes attire was an explosion of colour. Think pink feather boas, sequins, and, of course, the most exquisite tutu! My trusty tailor, Bob (you may remember him from my last London post!), really outdid himself. The new tutu is inspired by the pastel hues of the seaside town - it was definitely a show-stopper, don’t you think?
I had such a wonderful time in Cleethorpes. The people were friendly, the fish and chips were delicious, and the air was full of that sweet, salty sea breeze. But the best part was sharing my love of pink tutus with everyone who came out to see me. Seeing smiles and witnessing how excited everyone gets with a little pink, a little tulle, a little glitter, it makes my heart flutter!
One thing you learn being a travelling drag queen is how much people adore pink tutus! Even the sternest-looking grandma's face breaks into a smile when they see me twirling, you know?
Now, before I wrap up, I have to say: the real star of this journey is my tutu. I'm talking a true pink tulle dream, custom-designed, flowy, frilly, and perfect in every way! Bob and I spent weeks brainstorming to create the ultimate seaside pink tutu that perfectly captured the essence of Cleethorpes. It features a swirling pink tulle skirt that practically explodes in motion and is sprinkled with shimmering silver sequins that sparkle under the stage lights.
There are a couple of details that make this tutu extra special. The bodice, is covered in delicate pearl-white lace that adds a touch of elegance, and of course, I finished the look with a bright pink feather boa for an added splash of vibrancy. The whole outfit just screams, "look at me!"
Oh, and have I mentioned my hair? It's a sparkling, shimmery, perfectly-styled, pink unicorn dreamscape! The talented team at 'Locks n’ Curls’ worked magic - It was an intricate masterpiece of pink-dyed, curled hair topped with sparkly glitter - an absolute hair-raising spectacle.
Of course, no journey to the seaside is complete without a little souvenir. While in Cleethorpes, I discovered a truly adorable pink tutu-themed tea shop. The pastries were divine, but the real star was the cute, pastel-pink "Pink Tutu" mug I had to purchase! You know I had to snag one. I will absolutely be using that for my daily tea and a little 'Pink Tutu Sparkles' pep talk - don’t worry, I'm planning on featuring it in an upcoming video!
