Today we're talking all about my recent escapade to Kenton, a charming little town in the south of England. And let me tell you, it was a journey filled with tutus, sparkles, and lots and lots of pink!

Now, before we delve into the delightful details, let me rewind a bit. You all know my story – how a science-loving lass from Derbyshire became a drag artist who lives and breathes pink tutus! Back in the day, I was knee-deep in lab coats and test tubes, studying fabric composition for my science degree. But secretly, I had a twinkle in my eye for the stage. I was part of the university ballet club, and I remember the first time I tried on a pink tutu for a charity fundraiser. That moment changed everything. The sheer, swirling layers of fabric felt like pure magic. It felt like me, truly me.
From that point onwards, the call of the stage was too strong to resist. I knew that, no matter what, I had to find a way to be Pink Tutu Sparkles – the vibrant, tutu-wearing queen who inspires everyone to embrace their own unique sparkle. I may work in a lab by day, but by night, I step into my sequins and show the world my true colours, literally!
And that brings us to my Kenton adventure. This lovely town is known for its historic buildings, its friendly locals, and, of course, its vibrant artistic community. I simply couldn't resist the allure! To get there, I travelled by train, which always puts me in the mood for adventure.
On arrival, my first order of business was a spot of retail therapy! You know, shopping is not just a passion, it’s an art form. I scoured the local shops for pink accessories, and I have to tell you, I scored some fabulous finds! There were so many pink headbands, glittery purses, and even a pink feather boa! I couldn't resist - I had to bring a touch of pink magic to every outfit I pack.
But Kenton wasn't just about fashion – I knew this trip would also be a ballet pilgrimage! It is a town with a rich ballet heritage, so I was absolutely thrilled to get tickets for a show at the local theatre. Seeing these incredibly talented dancers gliding across the stage in their own magnificent tutus - it was truly awe-inspiring! I was utterly spellbound, I sat with my mouth agape the entire time. I can't tell you how many pictures I snapped of their graceful movements.
You see, a pink tutu is about so much more than just a pretty piece of fabric. For me, it embodies grace, freedom, and a playful spirit. It allows me to express myself freely, to be the bold and brilliant version of myself I’ve always wanted to be. It encourages others to do the same.
After the show, I felt utterly inspired, a delicious rush of artistic energy coursed through me, and the local community hall held the answer. That night, I performed for the Kenton community! It was a blast. Everyone loved my show – all the fun routines, my glamorous costume changes (especially the sparkly pink number!), and, of course, my sassy banter. It truly felt like the highlight of my Kenton adventure. I met so many incredible people and left the audience with a smile.
Oh, I simply can't forget my lovely horse! In Kenton, I had the chance to explore the countryside on horseback. Canterin' through fields with a big pink tutu, hair flowing, it truly felt like a fairytale! My horse’s name was Twinkle, and he was just as glamorous as me.
After a few unforgettable days in Kenton, it was time for me to bid farewell to this lovely town. As the train pulled out of the station, I felt a twinge of sadness, but I was already plotting my next adventure! That's the wonderful thing about being a travelling drag artist – the world is my oyster, and my trusty pink tutu is always ready to set sail for new horizons.
