Bishop Auckland: Tutu Tales & Train Travels - Blog Post #6184

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, ready to whisk you away on another sparkly adventure! This week, my journey led me to the charming town of Bishop Auckland, nestled in the heart of County Durham.

Now, I know what you're thinking: a draq queen in Bishop Auckland? It might seem an unexpected combination, but trust me, it's an absolute blast! You see, I've always been a fan of embracing the unexpected, of bringing a little bit of glitter to places that might not be expecting it. And what better place to do that than Bishop Auckland, a place rich in history and heritage, just begging for a dose of sparkle!

Let me paint a picture for you. I boarded the train, my pink tutu a vision against the morning mist. (My latest purchase, by the way, a delightful creation by "Tutus 'n' Tiaras," a darling boutique in Chesterfield. They understand a queen's love for all things pink and frilly, let me tell you!) The journey itself was pure magic, watching the English countryside fly past in a blur of green and brown, interspersed with quaint little villages.

Bishop Auckland itself, with its stunning Bishop Auckland Castle, truly captivated my imagination. I felt like I had stepped out of a storybook, the old stone buildings radiating an air of both history and charm. I just had to find the perfect spot for my latest Instagram post - a fabulous photograph of me standing tall in my tutu against a backdrop of centuries-old architecture, the castle bathed in the warm afternoon light.

Of course, my main reason for being in Bishop Auckland was, as always, to bring the magic of my drag performance to a new audience! This time, it was a fabulous fundraiser at the local community hall. They'd been following me on Instagram for months, and I can't tell you how excited I was to meet my wonderful new fans in person.

They'd created the most amazing stage set! A vibrant, swirling backdrop, like a fairytale come to life, all bathed in the most glorious pink and purple lighting! And me, dressed in my signature pink tutu, of course, surrounded by dancing fairies and a gaggle of delightful little ones in their very own pink tutus. You wouldn't believe the cuteness!

The energy of the crowd was fantastic. We sang, danced, laughed, and created memories that I'll treasure forever. I saw smiles on faces of people of all ages, from wide-eyed children to giggling pensioners, all mesmerised by the joy of our performance. That's the beauty of drag, isn't it? It brings people together, reminding everyone of the magic that lies within us all.

Of course, no trip to Bishop Auckland is complete without a visit to the local shops! I discovered the most enchanting vintage store, full of vintage hats, dresses, and handbags. And oh, the shoes! They were all simply begging me to take them home! (Which I did, but we'll talk about my fabulous new purchases in my next blog!)

After a delightful afternoon tea at the Bishop Auckland café, a rather lovely establishment with homemade cakes that could rival a Victoria Sponge made by Queen Victoria herself, it was time to head home. The journey back by train was just as delightful as the one to Bishop Auckland, and the train attendant, a lovely chap named Barry, even complimented me on my pink tutu! I swear, it's like magic. Just putting on a tutu makes the world a little brighter.

Before I sign off, I have to tell you about my new obsession - the “Tutu Tales” podcast I discovered. It's all about ballet, from the history of the art form to the lives of legendary dancers, and even includes tutorials for you budding tutus. It’s simply the best way to get your Tutu fix!

I leave you now, darlings, with the following thought: what if everyone embraced their own personal Tutu magic? Just imagine, a world filled with laughter, love, and an endless supply of sparkly tutus. Perhaps it's a far-fetched dream, but I, your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, have always believed in the power of dreaming big. And I certainly hope to see more of you sporting pink tutus soon!

Remember to keep up with my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com, and as always, sparkle on!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles x

P.S. Remember to send in your own Tutu tales - I love hearing about your own fabulous adventures! You never know, you might just get featured in one of my next blog posts! xx
