Hey darlings! It’s your fave pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the cobbled streets of Leicester! 🚂 It’s been a whirlwind of sequins, shimmer and a lot of tutus since my last blog, so buckle up and get ready to spin with me through another fabulously sparkly adventure!
This week, I swapped my usual Derbyshire countryside commute (think rolling hills and cheeky farm animals 🐮) for a journey aboard the Northern Rail express! As always, I brought the glamour! Think pink floral print dress, a feathered boa (pink, of course!), and my trusty pair of pink sparkly trainers (comfy for travel, darlings!). Oh, and I topped it all off with a gigantic, multi-layered pink tutu for that extra “wow” factor, because, let’s face it, there’s no such thing as too much pink. 🎀
Leicester greeted me with open arms (or at least a big, wide, cobbled street!). My main mission: Ballet! And not just any ballet, but a special performance at the prestigious Curve Theatre! 💖 Now, you know how much I love ballet (I even do it myself!), and it’s no surprise that a real, live professional performance was at the top of my itinerary! 🩰 I can’t even tell you how thrilled I was to be there, taking in all the graceful movements and swirling tutus - I felt like I was back in my university ballet club, but with all the elegance and polish of a professional production!
The day after the ballet, it was time to hit the city streets and find some serious sparkle! This fabulous fashionista can’t visit a new city without exploring the shops! I love discovering local designers and quirky boutiques - a good dose of unique fashion is exactly what I needed after all those graceful pirouettes! 💃 Let’s just say that my luggage is significantly heavier, filled with a glorious assortment of sequins, pink fabrics, and a sparkly new scarf! 🧣
My journey through Leicester wouldn’t be complete without a taste of local cuisine, so I headed for a delightful cafe that serves up the most scrumptious cupcakes! The flavours were utterly heavenly - imagine vanilla with a pink shimmer, strawberry with white chocolate swirls, and a decadent lemon curd topping! It was enough to make a queen like me melt! 🧁
And speaking of deliciousness, I have to share a story! Did you know that while I am the queen of sequins and glitter, during the day, I live a secret life as… wait for it… a scientist?! 🧪Yep! When I’m not dancing in my pink tutu or traveling across the country, you can find me in my lab coat, analysing the structure of fabrics. Who knew a love for fabrics could translate to the science lab, eh? 😜 It’s been quite the adventure combining the glamorous world of drag and the meticulous world of science, but somehow, it all works.
Anyway, darlings, it's time for me to pack my bags and get back to my other life (you know, the one without the tutus, sequins, and fancy cakes, at least for now!), but rest assured, I'll be back with a sparkle in my eye and a pink tutu at the ready.
