It's the sort of place you can truly escape reality, get swept away by the enchanting breeze and just be.
Now, let's talk tutus. As a girl who loves pink, and let's be honest, lives in a perpetual state of being 'extra,' this seaside town has a certain sparkle all its own! Think delicate tulle ruffles against the turquoise sea, pink tutus dancing in the golden sunlight, and me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, doing what I do best - bringing joy and glamour wherever I go!
Let's be honest, tutus are my obsession. They're a symbol of elegance, a burst of joy, a reminder that life is meant to be a whirlwind of twirls and laughter. You simply cannot have a bad day wearing a tutu! I mean, imagine this: a splash of sunshine yellow or a classic shimmering black, maybe a little bit of sparkle - they're just SO fabulous!
My journey here wasn't a smooth ride. First, I packed my favourite pink tulle tutu - the one with the crystal embellishments! You see, I’m not a girl for ordinary tutus, my darlings. It has to be sparkly, glittery and scream pink power with every bounce. The railway station was surprisingly supportive of my attire, so much so that a sweet lady offered to help me fold my tutu with its intricate lace and feathers to fit snugly in my travel bag! Bless her, such a treasure.
Then I discovered Crosby's train station. Honestly, I’ve never seen so many wonderful old-fashioned posters plastered on its walls! It felt like I had been transported into a black and white movie set, where charming old carriages pulled up with glamorous men and women holding elegant suitcases in hand. They were advertising glamorous places like Cannes and Monte Carlo. A beautiful throwback to simpler, more stylish times, when every day felt like a day of celebration!
My love for tutus goes back further than most can imagine. It was a balmy summer day during my science degree when I first became a convert to all things tutu. You see, my darlings, by day, I'm Alex, a humble science graduate, researching fabrics at a local lab. By night, it's lights, camera, action – and my trusty pink tutu. My journey started at the university’s annual fundraising event where I tried on a fluffy, pink tutu, to help raise money for the student ballet club. It felt amazing – liberating, confident, even a little rebellious, as it went against my otherwise nerdy life! Let’s just say, one pink tutu can change everything. And it did, for me at least!
Crosby’s stunning coast felt like the perfect location to bring my ‘Tutu’ mission to life: To inspire the world to wear a pink tutu, one shimmery tulle at a time! Now, who can resist the urge to twirl? Honestly, it’s almost impossible not to feel happy wearing a tutu. That joy, that light, that extra sprinkle of happiness… it’s contagious, I promise.
Speaking of joy, my first destination was a delightful ballet school. They welcomed me with open arms, allowing me to grace the wooden floors and twirl among the future ballerinas. Such grace! Such discipline! I just had to take part in a lesson - tutus are my superpower! I tried my best to copy the moves (although a tutu isn’t always ideal for an elegant fifth position) but mostly spent my time laughing at my attempts, spinning around like a ballerina gone wrong. They absolutely adored my sparkly tutu! Such joy and exuberance filled that studio as I showed them what being a Pink Tutu Sparkles is really about!
Next up, my love of theatre called! I stumbled upon the Crosby Civic Theatre, a vibrant haven of talent. Their calendar was chock-full of amazing performances: Shakespeare, musical theatre and ballet! Now, you know what makes me happy: a theatre full of life, of vibrant colors and an infectious energy. And that's exactly what I found in Crosby's theatre!
One afternoon, I ventured into a little bookshop and bought a worn copy of 'Giselle' (a famous ballet) and I settled down for a cup of hot chocolate, right by the shore. With the salty wind whispering in my ears, I felt strangely content. There is magic here in Crosby, my darlings. I knew this would be the perfect place to let my thoughts run free and come up with some exciting new tutu ideas! It seems that every walk I go on leads to another grand plan and vision, because today, the world was presented with a vision for a new 'ballet-themed' tutu range... you can get your hands on it soon!
So, how do I finance my love for tutus and my love for exploring all things pretty? Well, I do what I love best, I become Pink Tutu Sparkles. Every day I wear my glittery, sparkly, pink tutu with pride and dance my way through life, while spreading love and kindness. From fairs to clubs, from private events to even a recent town festival - it doesn't matter. If there is a place for sparkle and pink tulle, then you'll find me there, performing for every single soul!
I’m not afraid to show my true colors – literally! You'll catch me twirling to a chorus of 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' dazzling everyone with my pink glittery goodness and maybe a few (not-so) delicate, graceful ballet moves.
