Hello my darling dears!
Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you another fabulous day from the dazzling world of tutus and sparkles. This is post number 6344 (I never miss a day, not even on Tuesdays!). Today's escapade takes me to the charming town of Kirkby! Now, I know what you're thinking, "Kirkby?! What could a glamorous drag queen like yourself possibly find to do in a place like that?". Let me tell you, darlings, you'd be surprised! There's an air of delightful quirkiness about Kirkby that just tickles my tutu!
The journey, as always, was part of the fun. You can always count on a delightful chat and a smile from fellow passengers on the train - especially when you're dressed in a head-turning ensemble like mine! Today's outfit was a vision in fuchsia with layers of tulle, topped off with a glittery pink fascinator.
When I arrived, I headed straight to the local tea room, because what's a trip without a proper cuppa? Kirkby's "Toffee Apple Tea Shoppe" was the absolute darling! The teacups were shaped like apples and they served the most scrumptious slices of Victoria sponge I've ever tasted. You just have to be prepared for the friendly owner to give you a whole "life story" with a twinkle in her eye, especially when she finds out you're Pink Tutu Sparkles!
Next on my list: the "Kirkby Arts & Craft Centre". This quaint little haven housed some absolutely exquisite local artwork. There were ceramics, paintings, sculptures - even a few textiles that were just begging to be transformed into a Pink Tutu Sparkles creation! My inner seamstress was already working overtime, sketching out designs in my little notebook.
My day continued with a bit of shopping - you simply can't pass up an opportunity to expand your tutu collection, darling! - and then the real highlight of my Kirkby adventure: a surprise performance at the local "Community Centre".
You see, darling, sometimes when you least expect it, magic happens! As I was window-shopping, I saw a notice for their "Community Showcase" event and thought to myself, why not add a little Pink Tutu Sparkle to their evening? A few calls, a couple of enthusiastic phone chats, and voilà! I was waltzing onto their stage with a "Pink Tutu Sparkles & Friends" show. I invited all the locals, some who never saw a drag show, and, darling, the place went absolutely wild!
As I took my bow at the end of the show, I knew this wouldn't be my last time visiting Kirkby. It's a place that has embraced its quirks and delights. I, for one, embrace everything about Kirkby, from the charm of the "Toffee Apple Tea Shoppe" to the excitement of the community center performance!
You know what they say, darlings: you never know where life will take you when you’re rocking a pink tutu. And sometimes, you just need a little pink sparkle to remind everyone that life is a beautiful and surprising journey!
