Oh, hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to share a sprinkle of joy from the sunny shores of Llanelli! ☀️ It's a vibrant Welsh town with a warm heart and a charm that just gets you going. And me, well, I'm positively brimming with pink-tutu-powered excitement after an utterly sensational time performing here. This journey started with the familiar, comforting chug of a train leaving Derbyshire (you can’t beat the romantic appeal of a train, especially with a good book and a bag full of tulle, am I right?😉). The whistle blew, the carriage windows blurred, and my mind wandered with thoughts of sparkly stage lights and the joy I would bring to my Llanelli audience.
But before we get into the fabulously fabulous show, let's talk travel! Llanelli’s a gem hidden away, waiting to be discovered. This place is oozing with history, and it's bursting with character. Just as soon as I stepped off the train, the bustling energy, the colourful shop fronts, and the friendly smiles – I just knew I was going to feel right at home here. My heart leapt!
Of course, as the fashionista extraordinaire I am, shopping for a new pink tutu was the first stop! I’m afraid to tell you, darling, I almost had a nervous breakdown. Every single store I went into just screamed for a fabulous pink tutu addition! But I found my own, darling! Just the one! 🤫 I won’t spoil the surprise just yet - let’s just say I am absolutely dying to wear it! You'll just have to wait for the reveal on my next post... dramatic, delicious pause 😜
Anyway, before I could burst my sequin-encrusted seams with excitement, it was time to focus on what I had travelled all this way for – the performance! You know how I feel, darling – I absolutely adore my audiences! From the little ones captivated by the swirling pink tulle to the adults laughing along at my puns, I truly thrive on the connection we build in those precious few moments under the stage lights.
My act in Llanelli? Well, let’s just say it was something special. My “Sparkle-licious” routine – you know, the one with the giant fluffy feather boa and the show-stopping, dramatic, perfectly-timed splits - left the audience begging for more. I’m always striving to deliver, and this was definitely a show to remember! There were some amazing laughs, a lot of love, and plenty of Tutu-powered smiles - just the way I like it. 💖
But my journey wasn’t all glitter and twirling (although there was definitely a fair bit of both!). It was also about taking in the local vibe.
The streets were brimming with life! You can really feel the heart and soul of Llanelli as you walk around its little lanes and explore its shops. And I love it! Llanelli is bursting with those unique shops – the kind where you find the hidden treasure or the perfect trinket. The shops in the high street, the craft and antique emporiums and, of course, a delightful independent book store that I simply had to visit. It's all so incredibly inviting, making it impossible to not want to soak up the energy and charm.
It’s the kind of town that pulls you in with its easygoing atmosphere. Just chatting with the local shopkeepers, listening to their stories and feeling that genuine Welsh warmth, well, I can't deny that I had the most beautiful afternoon just wandering and absorbing the feel of this town!
Speaking of welcoming, Llanelli is an absolute must-visit for lovers of theatre. Their theatre is just divine, steeped in history and oozing with character. And darling, you just know that a drag queen who worships all things dramatic just has to immerse herself in the theatre! I even squeezed in a couple of ballet classes with some fabulous local talent, as the tutus here really got me inspired to polish up my dance moves! After all, my ballet passion is a secret, I can only hope these dancers didn’t spot me! 🤭
But my time in Llanelli couldn't possibly end without some traditional Welsh delicacies, could it? Now, my darlings, it just wouldn't be right to go to Wales and not sample those delicious Welsh cakes. They're sweet and crumbly with a gentle warmth - perfect for a sweet treat after a long day of travelling and performing.
I just can’t stop raving about Llanelli, you know, my darlings, it truly is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered! And who knows, perhaps next time, it'll be you who gets to witness the pink-tutu-fied magic that is Pink Tutu Sparkles gracing its stages.
