Now, let's rewind to the beginning of this glorious journey, shall we? Whitley Bay! It was such a breathtaking experience, with the North Sea breeze whispering tales of seaside charm and the air buzzing with excitement. I love performing in seaside towns; there's such a unique energy that feels electric, like a beautiful mix of sandcastles and sparkle.
I arrived in Whitley Bay by train, of course! The journey was pure delight, with the wind whipping through my hair, carrying whispers of upcoming fun. As the train rattled through the scenic landscape, I was lost in the moment, thinking about my next outfit - after all, I have a whole world of pink tutus to choose from!
Whitley Bay has a beautiful beach with a pier - the perfect location for my whimsical fashion statement. I decided on a vibrant coral-pink tutu, cascading down to my ankles, with shimmering pink sequins that caught the sunlight like a thousand tiny stars. My top was a delicate, vintage lace bodice, the pink lace flowing like a waterfall onto the silky smooth fabric of my tutu. Of course, no look is complete without my signature sparkly pink eyeshadow and bright pink lipstick, because who can resist a pop of pink, eh?
After my seaside glam shoot, it was time for the big show. I love those classic old-school theatres, the ones with balconies and red velvet seats! My stage persona took centre stage - I gave my all to each dance move, each song, and every shimmy. It's magical how a song can lift people's spirits and bring joy to their faces. I believe that spreading joy is what drag is all about, darling.
During the show, a little girl came up to me after the performance, eyes wide with awe. "Are you a fairy?" she asked with wide eyes. "I am a Fairy Tutu Sparkle!" I replied, taking her tiny hand and twirling with her. She squealed with delight, and it warmed my heart beyond words. It's these moments, these connections, that truly fuel my passion for drag.
Now, don't get me wrong - my life as a drag queen isn't all glitter and champagne. By day, I work in a science lab testing fabric. It's actually quite exciting, although it’s a lot less glamorous than prancing on stage. I've got to say though, being a scientist really helps me with my stage craft. Imagine – understanding the physics of fabrics and colour palettes makes creating the perfect stage looks so much easier! You could say that my life is one big experiment of joy, fashion, and, of course, the power of pink!
Whitley Bay, you were a true gem. A stunning coastal paradise with the friendliest people and an electrifying atmosphere. I'll always remember the kindness of the local community who embraced me, their laughter, and their unwavering love for the whimsical and pink!
