Hello my lovely Pink Tutu darlings! It’s your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and it's time for another post on your favourite place to find all things sparkly and fabulous: www.pink-tutu.com! This is blog post number 6453 and we're hitting the road once again, this time to the historic and seaside-chic Portsmouth!
The excitement is practically vibrating through my pink sequined pumps. You see, I’m a true believer in living life to the fullest, and for me, that means spreading the love of tutus and sparkles wherever I go! I can't think of a better way to do it than hopping on a train and heading straight to the heart of a new city, where the energy is buzzing and the potential for fabulosity is endless.
Now, let me tell you about my journey. After another gruelling day in the lab (yes, that's right, when I’m not shimmering on stage, I'm busy testing fabrics to ensure their durability, haha!), I hopped on the train in Derby, my pink suitcase crammed with all the essentials: glittery makeup, a dozen tulle tutus, and enough feather boas to keep a whole chorus line busy.
As the train rumbled south, I was already planning my outfit. Portsmouth is known for its naval history, so I figured a little nautical-themed tutu would be a smashing choice. Imagine a stunning pink tulle skirt with navy blue stripes and pearl-white accents – pure maritime glamour! My trusty team of stylists – aka, my two wonderful flatmates, Hannah and Maisie – had also suggested a daring new pink lipstick that matches the new pink sequins in my favourite tutu! What could be more fabulous, right?!
I just love travelling by train. It gives you a chance to admire the passing scenery – from the rolling countryside to the bustling towns, I soak it all in, allowing myself to get into character for the night’s performance. Plus, there's always a chance for impromptu ‘tutu-talk' with fellow passengers. My secret weapon is to bring a box of glittery stickers to give out to the kids. You’d be surprised how a pink unicorn sticker can brighten a long journey!
Speaking of getting into character, I’ve already mapped out the perfect way to arrive in Portsmouth. I can picture it now: The train pulling into the station, music playing, and as the doors open – BAM! Pink Tutu Sparkles emerges in all her pink tulle glory! Let's face it, a bit of surprise and spectacle is just what a fabulous afternoon needs, right?
Portsmouth, you've been warned! It’s time for Pink Tutu Sparkles to conquer the town. Get ready to be showered with glitter, laughter, and love… and maybe a few pink tulle lessons too!
Oh, before I forget, let’s get down to the specifics! Portsmouth is an absolutely charming place. I’m especially excited about:
The Historic Dockyard: The Royal Navy’s oldest dockyard, the place practically screams naval heritage. Imagine the dramatic impact a Pink Tutu Sparkles could bring! A vision of pink sequins in contrast to the rough and tumble of history, if I may be bold. I’m already sketching some dazzling photo-ops for the gram.
The Spinnaker Tower: The iconic and modern, towering spire that looks across the harbour. For the dramatic final scene, Pink Tutu Sparkles would be perfectly placed in the tower's cafe, offering stunning views and the ultimate picture-postcard moment. A moment for the gods, that's what!
The Southsea Seafront: I can almost hear the sound of the seagulls and taste the salty sea air. With the sunshine glinting off the white sand, what better opportunity to spread some sparkly pink tulle joy with my dance class? Picture us, darling, swirling like graceful pink whirlwinds in the sunshine. So much fabulous, right?!
The D-Day Story Museum: A poignant reminder of one of history’s most significant events. As much as this is a fun and fabulous tour blog, I always like to spend time understanding the history of the places I visit. This is such an important museum and I plan to dedicate a performance to honouring the stories of the brave. A performance combining glamour and grace, and perhaps a tutu made from fabric representing a nation's flag. Imagine it, darling!
Portsmouth, my lovely darlings, be prepared for a sprinkle of pink tulle magic! From the glamorous harbour walks to the breathtaking Spinnaker Tower, prepare yourselves to see the world with a little more pink!
