Oh my darlings! The time has finally come! After weeks of planning and anticipation, Pink Tutu Sparkles is about to grace the glorious city of Derby with her fabulous presence! Get ready to sparkle and twirl, because I'm bringing all the glitz and glam to this amazing town.
You see, Derby is not just home to some pretty impressive horse races, although, darling, I’m hoping to take a jaunty little trot around on a handsome stallion this weekend (must buy myself a fabulously pink, diamante-studded saddle for that!), but also to a little Pink Tutu Sparkles fan that’s been messaging me non-stop for ages to visit.
You’d never guess, darlings, but Pink Tutu Sparkles is secretly Alex. Yep, Alex by day, all serious, wearing a lab coat (with my fab pink tutu tucked under it, of course! I’m all about practicality!) and analyzing fabrics for the fashion world – don’t you just love sequins darling? I swear, I’ve tasted more chemical mixes than a Michelin chef! – I’d better stop there! This isn’t a blog about *food,* this is about *fashion! Then bam, night arrives, and it’s bam time for Pink Tutu Sparkles to shine, sparkle and dazzle! I just grab my massive sparkly bag - you know, the one you’ve seen in loads of my selfies? that one!, and head off to make the world a little more pink. You see, darling, pink is the colour of joy and happiness, it makes people smile, makes everything more wonderful! Don't worry if you've got a boring, dreary grey, black or navy outfit darling, a bit of pink can just make your life a little better… that's my goal – Pink Tutued up, the world is a better place.
Anyway, back to Derby… I’m excited about the performances coming up. Derby Theatre here we come, and I've already scoped out the stage - it's ready for some serious sparkle. But darling, the highlight of the trip? My friend Emily (from the university dance club days - I always knew she was a star darling!) is meeting me at the train station and we’re doing the tea-time ballet thing! You just can't beat a little afternoon tea with a touch of “ Swan Lake" at The Little Bake Shop – and they've even agreed to make the most pinkiest cake you ever saw (because Emily has some fabulous taste!). Oh darling, a nice slice of pink and delicious cake… you just can't ask for more (I wonder if pink can ever be overdone?).
Oh my gosh… a little aside - while I’m still on the subject of my Derby plans…. I just remembered that my wonderful fan Emily was the one that actually got me started with this crazy pink tutu thing! It all started back at University. It was that year, you know the one? When everyone was raising money for that big charity gala, and I just didn't want to stand in the fundraising bucket at the student's union, because it just wasn’t my scene. My idea? I’d do an hour in a tutu at a campus event! To be fair darling, everyone else went for something glamorous, sequins, diamonds, a sparkly dress or whatever but you know how I like to be a bit different! – so it was PINK TUTU TIME!! Emily’s face – pure shock – darling it was absolutely hilarious and it was all I needed – that’s how the name Pink Tutu Sparkles began! And… darling … the rest is history…. *the story is waiting to be written!
And while I'm talking about the story of Pink Tutu Sparkles, my dear darlings, it just wouldn't be right if I didn't mention this blog. It's all about connecting with you, sharing my love for the color pink and the wonderful world of dance. And speaking of the world, I'm taking my travels to new heights… er… or perhaps to new speeds, this time! Instead of hopping on the high-speed train to Derby like last time - because I need to make it snappy darling - it's a different type of journey this time: Horse-riding. Yep, it's pink tutu to the races on the back of my fabulous steed! Don’t worry, the pink saddle and the *sparkly bridles will be fab and perfectly pink, of course.* You just gotta watch out for the cameras! And, the best thing? Emily says I can ride her thoroughbred - we used to muck out stalls together during university (another long story, and not glamour – but trust me, darling, the story would be good!). And I will have to buy myself some riding boots… because we are about that kind of fabulously fashionable Pink Tutu Sparkles! And… guess what?… it’s not just about the performance at Derby Racecourse - the Pink Tutu Sparkles show has been booked all over the city - from the theatres to local clubs… it’s gonna be a right pink-tastic event, and I promise to report on all of the highlights! And my friends at the local Bake Shop, I'm on my way.
But hold on, because it gets even more exciting - remember all those fabulous costumes I’ve been designing for all you fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles supporters - all that sparkly, glittering tulle…. (It must be tulle, can't have ordinary netting you know! )….well, darling, they’re going to be on sale during my trip to Derby! Yep! I’ve packed up all the gorgeous Pink Tutu Sparkles creations from my workshops in Chesterfield, you can see them at The Little Bake Shop and … maybe… they’ll even find a permanent home at The Derby Theatre - oh the amazing outfits I have dreamed up this time! You can check out photos on the Pink-Tutu website, my followers always make it sparkle (because you are just the best!)…. but you gotta see these things for yourselves, believe me – you’ll be screaming ‘OMG Pink Tutu Sparkle’ for the rest of your life. Think ‘Fabulous Pink Ballerina-esque-Disco….. It's going to be an unforgettable shopping experience, that's a guarantee darling!
So, here I am, setting off for another grand Pink Tutu adventure, filled with glitter, pink tulle, laughter and… some dancing… that I haven't managed to squeeze in yet, but the best dance nights, are always completely spontaneous, wouldn't you agree darlings?! Stay tuned, my little sparkle bunnies, this is only the beginning of my pink tutu journey in Derby and my website is going to be full of fab updates on every glitter-covered second! And for now darling, take my advice…
