Hey darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! 💅💋 And guess what? This little lady's back on the road again! This time, I'm bringing all the fabulousness to Darlington!
This is post number 6510, if you can believe it! And let me tell you, each and every post gets me one step closer to achieving my ultimate goal: Getting everyone to wear a pink tutu! (Honestly, what could be more fabulous? 🤔💖)
Now, I might be from Derbyshire, but let me tell you, the only way to travel in style is by train, or of course, horseback! 🏇💨 There's nothing quite like the freedom of the open road (or railway line, depending on how you choose to get around), with the wind in your hair and the world rushing past you. And for this journey, my beloved pink suitcase was packed with all the sparkle, glitter and of course, pink tutus my heart could desire! 😉
My first stop in Darlington was a visit to the gorgeous Darlington Hippodrome! I mean, honestly, this place is just brimming with theatre history - built in 1907, with stunning architecture and an atmosphere that just makes you want to dance! And let me tell you, it’s one of my absolute favourite things about my job – travelling to all these incredible places, each with their own unique stories. 💖
While I’m not one to spoil my fun with rehearsals or even practice (who needs those when you’ve got the divine spirit of a pink tutu!), there was one thing I simply had to do while I was in Darlington: a ballet class at the Darlington Ballet School! Now, as a girl who spent countless hours perfecting my pirouettes and grand jetés, this was just the chance to hone my skills (and make new friends in pink tutus!), and trust me, when it comes to tutus, I’m a real pro – you know I was working that twirl with all the graceful power of a ballerina and all the cheeky charm of a drag queen! 😂
Speaking of charm, I had the absolute joy of meeting the lovely folk of Darlington at the annual ‘Darlington Does Dance’ Festival! Can we talk about the talent in this town, seriously?! I got to see everything from graceful contemporary to explosive street dance - it was such a joy, and you betcha, I wore my signature pink tutu, adding a dash of extra sparkle! 💫
Of course, after a full day of dazzling audiences with my routines and dazzling myself with beautiful dresses (a girl’s gotta shop!), I couldn’t leave Darlington without a delicious treat! The traditional fare here, as you know, is a delightful affair called a 'Darlington Pudding'! And I am not one to miss out on any chance to taste some of the local delights! Let’s just say it was a taste explosion that made my little drag heart so very happy! 💗
Darlington, thank you for being such a welcoming and beautiful city, I'm already itching to get back for more! Remember, always wear your own style with confidence, let your true colours shine, and remember to twirl like there’s no one watching (or like the world is your stage)! 😉
