Burton upon Trent: A Tutu-ful Time! 🩰💖

Hello my darlings! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another adventure from the world of glitter and twirls! Today's post is number 6536, and we're in the lovely town of Burton upon Trent! (Don't worry, I'll tell you all about the fabulous places I've been and the amazing things I've seen in just a bit).

First, let me tell you about my journey! Now, as you all know, I'm a big fan of all things fabulous and fantastical, and that includes getting to my destinations in style. This time, I opted for the ultimate in romantic travel: a train journey! You can't beat the elegance and charm of gliding through the English countryside, and as I sipped my Earl Grey tea and gazed at the passing fields, I couldn't help but feel inspired! It felt like the beginning of a beautiful ballet story, and I swear, I felt a tutu-like twirl coming on!

Speaking of tutus, I packed a selection of my most fabulous pink tutus for this trip, naturally! They're always a sure-fire way to turn heads and brighten up any place, even a little town like Burton upon Trent. I was a little worried that it might not be quite as fashion-forward as London or Manchester, but oh boy, was I wrong!

Upon arrival, I headed straight to a charming little boutique called "Tweed and Tiaras." I must say, I was smitten! It was a wonderland of whimsical fashion and beautiful accessories, with plenty of pink hues and sparkles for a tutu-loving queen like myself! I indulged in a little retail therapy and came away with a darling little hat adorned with delicate pink feathers – a perfect accessory to pair with one of my fluffiest tutus, of course!

But let's get back to the star of this post: Burton upon Trent itself! It turned out to be a true gem! A delightful blend of historic charm and modern vibrancy. We even stumbled upon a little theatre in a historic building, so I, naturally, couldn't resist sneaking in a ballet performance. It was a production of 'Sleeping Beauty' – my absolute favourite! I absolutely adored the exquisite choreography and stunning costumes – they truly sparkled on stage. It almost made me want to pull out my own sparkly pink tutu and twirl right in the middle of the performance, but I restrained myself... just barely!

The town also had a delightful little vintage shop, brimming with antique trinkets and peculiar curios, which I must say, is a weakness of mine! Imagine, my lovelies, a vintage pink teacup from the 1920s with dainty pink floral decorations. I bought it, of course, along with a few other treasures, and I can't wait to showcase them back in Derbyshire at my place!

As you can tell, I'm a bit of a girly-girl when it comes to exploring new places, but there was also a really great arts market that popped up on the town square. They had live music, fascinating local art, delicious food stalls, and… you guessed it… some wonderfully whimsical crafts inspired by the ballet! The atmosphere was so delightful, I had to whip out my most flamboyant tutu and join in on the fun.

We've all had that time where we are just a bit of a wallflower, don't we? But at this particular market, surrounded by colorful art, sweet melodies, and smiles, my inner performer emerged! And my, was it a show-stopping performance! My Tutu Twirl set the crowd into raptures – let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, especially mine! It made me so happy to see the smiles and hear the delighted laughter, to be quite honest!

In fact, that was such a good day in Burton upon Trent, I even took it upon myself to try and convert a few locals into the joy of pink tutus! Don’t get me wrong, my lovelies, it was entirely on my terms. But I’m so happy to report that some really cute locals seemed to catch the Tutu bug! One sweet granny was delighted by my enthusiasm and declared that my outfit was “Simply gorgeous!”, and another lad declared that he might even rock a pink tutu himself. Let’s hope those are the first seeds for my tutu-fied world to blossom, wouldn’t you say?

And, in a truly magical moment, we even encountered a kind local family who offered us some traditional Burton Ales, brewed by their local brewery. You know what they say: good times are best shared with friends! We danced and sang along to the music and it just goes to show that a shared laugh and a great cup of beer can truly bring everyone together.

Speaking of friends, we also got to chat with the most fabulous group of local theatre enthusiasts – oh, my dear readers, these were the sort of people that truly made my day. They loved hearing about my journey, how I discovered my passion for pink tutus, and they were absolutely delighted by my performance. (Some even confessed they were tempted to wear a tutu themselves – ha! Maybe a Tutu Revolution is on the horizon? We'll just have to wait and see! )

Burton upon Trent certainly captured my heart. The people are kind, the scenery beautiful, and it’s the perfect spot to discover your inner sparkle. After such a dazzling trip, you can bet I'll be coming back to explore its secrets again soon! It really feels like I discovered another Tutu Wonderland!

But, until next time, darling, remember to wear your brightest colours, spread the glitter, and let your fabulous self shine through! After all, as they say: "Life is too short to wear boring clothes!” Especially when it’s not your only opportunity to wear a fabulous, sparkly pink tutu!

As ever, my darlings, love, twirls, and pink tutus from,

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖
