This is blog post number 6595, folks, and I’m so thrilled to share my latest adventures with you all. It’s been a whirlwind of a week, filled with sparkling performances, delicious cake, and – of course – a whole lot of pink!
It all started with a journey by train, and oh, how I love those carriages! Such a delightful way to travel. It gave me a chance to admire the passing scenery, indulge in a spot of afternoon tea, and of course, snap some selfies in my newest pink tutu, a shimmery number that just screams “glamour!”
Sutton in Ashfield welcomed me with open arms. This charming little town has such a vibrant energy, and the locals were simply lovely! They greeted me with cheers and laughter, eager to join my tutu revolution. 😉 And you know what? There was even a fantastic little vintage clothing store, filled to the brim with gems for my next drag look. My, oh my, I think I’ll be returning for another browse!
My main reason for visiting this week was a rather special performance: a charity event at the local community center. They had a magnificent, high-ceilinged space with beautiful wooden floors, just perfect for my dramatic entrance and even more perfect for a twirl or two! And the audience, they were phenomenal! So engaged, so supportive, and – yes, you guessed it! – some even sported their own pink tutus! Honestly, the energy was infectious, and the smiles, well, they were like sparkling diamonds! 💖
Of course, no performance of mine would be complete without a touch of theatricality, so I put together a medley of my favourite dance routines – a ballet-inspired mash-up with a sprinkle of street and a dash of showgirl flair. I even threw in a few dramatic pauses, just for that added ‘oooh, la la!’ factor.
The highlight of the evening came when I pulled out my latest costume: a cascading waterfall of pink tulle, paired with glittering feather wings. It felt like I was floating on a cloud of sheer perfection, twirling with the grace of a swan and the confidence of a queen!
Now, I've gotta tell you, being Pink Tutu Sparkles isn't just about performing in the dazzling limelight – it's also about making people feel good, spreading joy, and encouraging others to embrace their own sparkle! After all, what's life without a little bit of pink and a whole lot of tutu?

A Pink Tutu Princess's DayOk, so you know the glamorous part of my life, the dancing, the costumes, the sparkly make-up, but let me let you in on a little secret: I'm also a scientist! You see, Pink Tutu Sparkles doesn't just live for glitter and glam, I also work in a laboratory, testing fabric!
It might seem like an odd combination, a scientist in pink tutus, but for me it's just the perfect balance. I love the meticulous world of research, the quest for knowledge, the endless discoveries – and it feeds my love for colour and texture, just in a different way.
It’s all thanks to the charity fundraiser that got me hooked on pink tutus in the first place. Back in my university days, I was part of the ballet club, a natural passion of mine since childhood. I wasn't afraid of looking silly; in fact, the sillier the better! So, when our university hosted a fundraising event with a tutu-wearing theme, I was game for it! There I was, decked out in pink tulle, feeling absolutely fabulous, but deep down there was a small, slightly embarrassing part of me that hoped nobody knew my real identity. But then a feeling came over me, a warm, comforting rush of confidence that, honestly, shocked me! It was liberating, it was thrilling. The joy I found in expressing myself through this vibrant costume sparked a passion within me – it awakened Pink Tutu Sparkles!
But wait, don’t get me wrong! This wasn't a sudden personality swap – Alex still lived in my heart. By day I continued to delve into the intricacies of fabric science, fascinated by its structure and performance, all while the spirit of Pink Tutu Sparkles began to blossom. It didn’t take long before I discovered the fantastically supportive and creative world of drag, with all its magic and glitter.
And yes, you guessed it! It was this fantastic world that fuelled my dream of becoming Pink Tutu Sparkles.
This passion doesn't stop there, oh no, my lovelies! Every aspect of my life is inspired by Pink Tutu Sparkle. My scientific pursuits are fuelled by my artistic vision; I love using my scientific understanding to help with costume creation and understand how different fabrics move, how they sparkle in the light, and how to enhance the stage presence of my elaborate costumes!
Just this week, I spent a day at the lab, immersed in research papers about the elasticity and strength of different materials. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from researching the behaviour of yarn, the chemical compositions of sequins, and the impact of light refraction on holographic fabric.
By night, the fabric knowledge gained by day comes in handy!
Honestly, life as Pink Tutu Sparkles is simply brilliant! I get to embrace both my intellectual and my artistic sides, all while wearing my favourite colour and swirling through life in a magnificent pink tutu. Life's a dream, my darlings! 💖
But the biggest inspiration behind Pink Tutu Sparkle is a very personal one. My dear Grandma, she was an incredible woman. Always a beacon of happiness, full of fun, and loved everything sparkly. And do you know what she loved the most? Why, pink, of course!
Now, when I look at a pink tutu, it’s not just a dazzling garment for me – it’s a reminder of all the amazing things my dear Grandma embodied, her vibrant personality, her laughter, and her constant desire to bring joy to the world. Every time I take to the stage in my pink tutu, I carry with me her memory and her legacy. I strive to embody those qualities, bringing laughter, love, and a healthy dose of sparkle to each performance. 💖
And with that thought in mind, it’s time to bid farewell for now. I have a mountain of sequins waiting to be glued onto my next masterpiece, and an overflowing tutu bag, ready to be filled with a rainbow of fabulousness!
