Greenford: Pink Tutu Sparkles Does Greenford!

Hello darlings, it's your favourite Pink Tutu Queen here! Today's post is blog number 6600, can you believe it? We're going strong!

I'm thrilled to be posting from sunny (well, kinda cloudy but hey!) Greenford! I took a right turn from the usual M25 motorways (honestly, the scenery's a bit of a snooze-fest) and found myself on a train heading for the bustling, exciting, full-of-life town of Greenford. Why? You guessed it! A show, a grand opening, a chance to spread the pink tutu gospel to yet another unsuspecting (and hopefully delighted) audience!

Today, my gorgeous new fuchsia feathered tutu (you know me, gotta be colourful!) got the best possible outing. And oh, my dears, let's talk outfit! Think blush pink satin corset, a floaty chiffon cape shimmering like a sunrise, and my absolute favourite sequined thigh-high boots - these babies are definitely a statement! Honestly, darling, if this ensemble doesn't make you want to twirl in your own pink tutu, I don't know what will!

Greenford, what a town! The shops are delightful - perfect for a post-show shopping spree, even for a tutu queen on a budget. You can find just about anything here: vintage bargains, designer boutiques, the whole shebang! And don't even get me started on the local flower market. My heart skipped a beat! The scent of lilies, peonies, and roses, and oh, that vibrancy of colours - truly a delight to the senses.

After a truly lovely performance in the charming Greenford Arts Centre, I got the most lovely bunch of pink roses (with a sprinkle of lavender! Oh, how divine!). You wouldn't believe the sheer joy that filled me. A tiny bit of glitter, a burst of colour, and a simple gesture like a bouquet of pink flowers... it truly makes you realize how much happiness a pink tutu can spread.

The theatre itself was delightful - not too grand, not too small, just the perfect balance. And the crowd, oh the crowd! Everyone was so excited to see me in my pink glory. We even had a little spontaneous flash mob dance party to 'Dancing Queen' (the classic ABBA, you know!), a delightful touch. It was pure joy!

Honestly, my day in Greenford had a sprinkle of everything. We're talking vintage clothes (I snagged a gorgeous pearl brooch for my collection!), afternoon tea (so posh!), a little detour to a quirky antiques shop where I found a genuine vintage ballet poster from the 1930s - how exciting is that!), and the cherry on the top? A gorgeous evening horse ride through Greenford Park! It's no surprise that Greenford has won awards for its beautiful green spaces. The light at dusk, the sounds of birdsong (even in January!)... just a dream, darling!

Now, Greenford, before I head back to the lab (science, yes! It’s not all glitz and glamour! Haha!) let's talk tutu history! I've been in the mood to share some stories from my past, so hold on tight.

Back in Derbyshire (the place that spawned a fabulous Pink Tutu Queen!), my tutu journey started in the most unexpected way: the science lab! No, not a fashion lab, a REAL lab, like with chemicals and beakers. I was studying chemistry - not my ideal career path, but hey, everyone needs a day job, right? Now, this isn't the whole truth. Deep down I’ve always had this hidden secret longing to become a scientist who studies fashion, a fabulously flamboyant fashion-chemistry whiz. You know, mixing fabric textures and designing colours… Maybe someday. But as I was saying, I was studying chemistry (sigh, I know!), and part of university life for me meant joining the ballet club! Think flamboyant leotards, stretchy Lycra, and all the glitz and glamour you could imagine... but without a tutu! So, the university organised a charity fashion show (because students are always broke!) and what did they get me to do? Yes, darling, wear a pink tutu! Oh, the irony. This is where it all started. And to be honest, who needs science when you can be a sparkling tutu queen, right?

Anyway, I must go, darling, I'm feeling that scientific mojo kick in! There are fabrics to be tested and a whole lab full of pink swatches (don't tell the boss!), but I promise you I will be back with a new, flamboyant, and most definitely pink, tutu post!

So stay sparkling, keep on twirling, and remember, darlings, don’t be afraid to put on your pink tutu and embrace your inner fabulousness!

Until next time! XOXO
