Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! Get ready for a whirlwind of pink, tutus and sparkles as we journey to the fabulous town of Kirkby!
Oh, it was just so delightful! The train journey was pure joy, all swirling pink fabrics, a delicious pot of tea and a delightful view of the countryside flitting by. As always, I was rocking my latest pink tutu creation, this time a fluffy confection of tulle, adorned with sequin butterflies. It drew quite a few smiles from the fellow passengers, who seemed quite enchanted by my pink-tastic attire. Honestly, you can’t deny the magic a pink tutu brings, even on a mundane train journey.
As we sped along, I imagined what Kirkby held in store for me. My fabulous calendar, covered in shimmering glitter and a touch of diamanté, revealed a performance opportunity at the annual Kirkby Fair! Oh, what an exciting prospect! Kirkby Fair is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and warm welcoming folk.
The moment we pulled into Kirkby Station, a thrill coursed through my body. It was bustling, but in a friendly, jovial way, with families out for a day of fun. You could hear the faint notes of the carnival music in the air! Just delightful.
I hailed a cab to the fairground, my heart bubbling with anticipation. It was quite the scene, filled with joyful chatter, colourful stalls and the delicious aroma of hot dogs and toffee apples! And of course, it wouldn't be a proper fair without rides! But nothing compared to the beauty of a pink tutu on a sunny afternoon. It is certainly a head-turning look that's always sure to generate a flurry of compliments!
As soon as I set up my performance space, it felt like the whole fair had turned pink. Well, maybe not exactly, but I certainly added a bit of sparkle and pizzazz. I am not one for half-measures. And of course, nothing beats a little twirling and shimmying in a fabulous tutu while the crowd roars with applause! It truly is my calling in life - to bring joy and a sprinkle of magic wherever I go. I could sense their faces beaming with delight as I did my iconic cartwheels and leaps.
That evening, I met up with some charming locals, and they treated me to a lovely pot pie. It was so delicious, especially after a long, fabulous day of performance and a whole load of excitement. I must admit, these folk certainly know how to throw a party! My performance at the Kirkby Fair was a massive success. Oh, I even made several lovely friends who wore pink tutus in support. I think Kirkby might have just earned a place in my heart.
There are more adventures on the horizon for your beloved Pink Tutu Sparkles. Oh, to be whisked away by a gentle breeze or, perhaps, even an elegant horse drawn carriage. But until then, let us remember that magic lives in every day, and every one of us has a little pink tutu princess in our heart!

It’s great to bring the world of Pink Tutu Sparkles to life! I find it rather fascinating how people see drag as this mysterious otherworldly realm. And you know, sometimes, it is a different reality, a little escape from everyday life. But it all started with that one special charity event at the university where I first tried on a pink tutu. And it is so true when people say you have to go outside your comfort zone, or, at the very least, try a different dress size.
You could say I fell head-over-heels for it, like a giddy little child. You see, my day job is at a lab, testing fabrics - boring compared to shimmering silks and tulle. It is really satisfying though, finding flaws in fabric so companies can create better clothes. It's all in the details - we all love to wear clothes, but how often do we think about what goes into them? I think you might be surprised to learn some fabrics are actually stronger than steel! My job’s definitely inspired my outfits too!
Anyway, enough about the work, back to my beloved pink tutus! I just love everything about the way they make me feel, a little bit playful, a little bit majestic, all whilst still being undeniably me! I’d like to think I have helped make them popular amongst drag queens - my Instagram page certainly attracts lots of like-minded queens looking to express themselves through tutus. And of course, you have the amazing ballet dancers who are true professionals with all things tutu!
