It's been a whirlwind of a day. A little train journey from Derbyshire, a pitstop at my favourite vintage clothing emporium in Birmingham (one can never have too many sequins, you know!), and then, bam, into the heart of Wishaw.
Speaking of hearts, oh my darlings, the Wishaw audience was absolutely phenomenal! They were laughing, they were clapping, they were even shimmying in their seats! They were right with me every step of the way. It's honestly such a joy to see how quickly audiences embrace the pink tutu spirit. My life's goal, remember, is to have everyone in the world wear a pink tutu at least once, and seeing these smiles, the way they were all swept away by the glitter and the glamour, well, it warms my heart (and makes it twirl!).
You know, I started this journey back when I was just a budding scientist. Stuck in the lab all day, surrounded by chemicals and formulas, I felt a little bit... stifled. One day, I wandered into the university's ballet club for their fundraising event. "Try on a tutu?" they asked. And you know, sometimes you just gotta trust your gut. So I did. And bam, instant transformation!
Suddenly, all those stuffy lab coats and scientific instruments just felt... well, they just weren't for me. My world was bursting with colour and fluffiness! From that moment on, it was all tutus, sparkles, and dreams of pink.
But I didn't want to leave behind that scientific mind! So I've got this incredible gig – scientist by day, Pink Tutu Sparkles by night. My science skills, believe it or not, come in really handy with drag! Fabric analysis, you see, is my specialty! Who needs a chemist to test their sequin durability, when you've got Pink Tutu Sparkles? 😂 It's truly a magical blend of practicality and pure theatrical escapism!
The train journey to Wishaw was delightful, as always. It's just such a lovely way to travel. Sometimes, if the venue is not too far, I take my horse. Imagine, galloping towards a performance on a beautiful horse, tutu billowing in the wind... just sheer magic!
Of course, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without some fabulous outfits! And oh, this performance was bursting with fashion brilliance. We had a glittery gown inspired by the 80s, complete with feather boas that practically sang in the spotlights! We had a dreamy tulle skirt with hand-sewn crystal butterflies fluttering like angels! And of course, the pink tutu was the centrepiece – a swirl of soft pink netting that truly embodied my whole brand!
Now, speaking of ballet, my darlings! This post is extra special because it comes straight after a phenomenal trip to the Scottish Ballet! Imagine a tutu extravaganza within a tutu extravaganza – I was utterly mesmerized! The grace, the athleticism, the sheer beauty of the dancers! It simply confirmed that ballet is not just about pretty costumes – it's about power, emotion, and a deep, artistic connection with the audience. It was simply electrifying!
And yes, I may have tried a few spins myself on the theatre's stage afterwards! You see, I can't just be a tutu enthusiast – I also love to dance! So after my show in Wishaw, I sneakily took my pink tutu onto the theatre stage and twirled a few times... oh, the thrill!
