Hello darlings! Your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is back with another fabulous travel diary. Today, I'm whisking you off on a sparkly journey to Newtownards, a town brimming with Northern Irish charm!
Remember my fabulous journey in Derbyshire earlier this year? My little heart is still singing with joy from that beautiful countryside! Well, after a few shows at some dazzling local festivals, it was time to hop aboard the train and head north. Let's just say I caused quite a stir on the platform, arriving with my signature pink tutu, overflowing suitcase of sparkles, and my ever-present box of fluffy pink cupcakes (they are, after all, a travel necessity for any true drag diva).
Now, as you know, I adore exploring by train. It allows me to soak up the countryside, daydream about all the fab venues I could grace with my presence, and, most importantly, plan my outfits for the week! This time, I chose a gorgeous lilac tutu adorned with a cascade of shimmering pink sequins. The sun was shining through the window, painting the train carriages with an enchanting rosy glow - truly a fairytale setting for this pink-loving queen!
As we rolled into Newtownards, I felt a wave of excitement wash over me. I had heard so much about this charming town – they even have a breathtaking Victorian promenade, a ballet studio, and even a historical church! My inner drama queen was buzzing! I had secured a fabulous gig at a quirky market with live music, and you bet your bottom dollar that I was going to turn heads with a spectacular performance.
Speaking of sparkle, my costume for the market show was pure magic! A shimmering pink tulle tutu with iridescent sequins that captured the sunlight like a thousand twinkling stars! I paired it with a vintage lace bodice and fluffy pink feathers - truly a show-stopping look! My dear friend, Chloe, a talented make-up artist with a heart as big as her eyeshadow palette, helped me create a breathtaking look - a shimmering pink eye shadow and an exquisite pink lip – perfect for this colourful performance. We really had an amazing time with the crowds, and by the end, everyone had a pink tutu on their shopping lists, ha ha!
That evening, the stage was set for my big theatre performance at a charming local venue, and it was a real feather in my crown (quite literally!) - a performance full of graceful movement and shimmering pink light. Let me tell you, performing on stage is truly my happy place. With every twirl and sparkle, I can transport my audience to a world of joy and fantasy - it’s absolutely magical. And guess what? Even the theatre’s resident cat, a dapper ginger feline, joined in with the applause - pure paw-some!
The next day, I found myself strolling down the promenade, marvelling at the magnificent architecture and catching glimpses of the majestic Irish Sea. But my journey couldn't be complete without a visit to the local ballet studio, a sanctuary of pink tutus and graceful movements. It was a sheer delight! I had the honour of joining a beginner's class – a beautiful blend of seasoned dancers and excited novices. I absolutely adore ballet! It’s so expressive and graceful, and the beautiful movements just enchant me. And let's be honest, any opportunity to wear a tutu is always a winner in my book!
I know, some might say, "What’s so special about a pink tutu?" But believe me, darling, it’s much more than just a piece of clothing. It’s a symbol of self-expression, joy, and creativity. Every time I step into my pink tutu, I embrace the fun, vibrant, and utterly fabulous side of myself, and I think that’s a beautiful thing to share with the world.
