My journey was a little out of the ordinary, though. No planes or cars for this girl! This time, I journeyed to Frome by the grandest steed, my beautiful mare, Pinkalicious. (Yes, you read that right, my horse is a delightful shade of bubblegum pink!) We trotted through the rolling hills, taking in the fresh country air and greeting the friendly sheep grazing in the fields. 🐑 Pinkalicious has an affinity for lavender, so we took a pit stop at a delightful farm, inhaling the fragrant scent of lavender flowers as we munched on homemade lavender shortbread (it was absolutely divine!). 💖
Arriving in Frome, I couldn't help but fall in love with its whimsical atmosphere. You can't go wrong with quaint coffee shops with charming little tables spilling onto the street and charming little boutiques overflowing with treasures. (Speaking of treasures, I snagged a little pink broach with delicate ballet slippers attached—so cute!). I did some vintage dress shopping, finding the most exquisite vintage tea dress adorned with pastel flowers, which is absolutely perfect for afternoon tea parties! You can bet I'll be showing it off on my next outing. 👗
Now, what would a trip by Pink Tutu Sparkles be without a dose of sparkle, glamour, and a sprinkle of dance? 👠 Frome doesn't disappoint! I had the absolute pleasure of performing at the Frome Independent Market—think colourful stalls filled with handmade crafts, mouthwatering food, and music buzzing through the air. 🎵 It was the perfect spot to share some pink-tutu-fied joy with the local community!
Speaking of music and joy, the local community came together for a ballet recital right there in the marketplace! Oh, darlings! The performance was absolutely divine, with the littlest ballerinas taking centre stage with grace and poise. 🩰 Their costumes were a dream – think fluffy tutus and colourful tights, pure sunshine in motion! The atmosphere was absolutely magical, and you could tell how much everyone involved cherished the art of ballet. I'm still basking in that delightful afterglow, to be honest! 💖
While I might be a professional glitter bomb of joy on stage, back in my Derbyshire lab, I'm a down-to-earth scientist, studying fabric. Yes, that's right! This pink tutu wearing drag queen is a geek by day and a fabulous sparkle machine by night!
