Today, I'm channeling a certain Victorian-era queen (no, not the one with the jewels!), because even though Coulsdon feels a world away from my beloved Derbyshire, it's still brimming with elegance and charm. Let me tell you, the South East is definitely on my must-see list, and after my Coulsdon adventures, I can say it's living up to all its hype.
The journey itself was, shall we say, adventurous! I opted for the scenic route, travelling by train, naturally. With my suitcase stuffed to the brim with enough sparkly tulle to cover the entirety of London's underground network (I’m not exaggerating!), the carriage quickly became a beacon of pink delight. I had so much fun chatting to my fellow commuters, inspiring a few of them to even embrace their inner ballerina with some pink ribbon sashes and feather boas they were carrying. You see, darlings, it only takes a little spark of pink to set a whole room alight!
Now, Coulsdon itself is a true gem. With its stunning Victorian architecture, charming little tea shops, and delightful gardens, I truly felt like I was stepping back in time. After a rejuvenating spa treatment (which, yes, did involve pink bath bombs, what else!), I transformed into my full drag queen regalia for an unforgettable evening. My Coulsdon performance was, I’ll be honest, a whirlwind of energy and fabulousness. I performed at a local theatre, turning a standard show into a pink, glittery, tulle-tastic dream! You can say what you want, but those locals know how to appreciate a good dance, and let’s just say, I wasn’t alone in wearing pink on that stage!
