I’m just back from a whirlwind trip to the fabulous city of London! I mean, honestly, how much joy can one city hold? And that joy? I soaked it up like a sponge. This is post number 6709 and it’s going to be a whopper! Prepare for sparkles, laughter and a whole lotta pink!
You know how much I adore travelling, especially when it involves a fancy dress-up occasion. This trip was all about exploring the cultural gems of London and spreading the tutu-love, because let’s face it, the world just needs a little more sparkle, don’t you think?
Before I jetted off to the Big Smoke (by train, obviously!), I spent a whole day getting my glam on. It’s essential for any diva worth her glitter to pack the right accessories for a successful trip. So I dug out my most sparkly heels (they match my fabulous handbag), piled on my statement jewellery (thank you, Accessorize!), and added some extra fabulous to my makeup look. Now, you already know my favourite shade is pink, but for this London trip, I wanted something special. A whole new shade of pink! Something that felt fresh, fun, and maybe a little daring! My inner scientist helped me out, with the perfect touch of berry-red lipstick for a dramatic edge!
My London journey started with the most majestic way of getting into the heart of the city: a horse-drawn carriage! It might sound a tad old-fashioned, but it’s honestly the most elegant way to feel like a proper princess – especially when you’re wearing a flowing, sparkly tutu and an extravagant feather boa. It felt like a scene straight out of a fairytale, but, let’s be honest, real life is much more magical, right?
Once we reached the centre of London, my adventure really kicked off! I’m sure you've all heard of the iconic Royal Albert Hall – I even popped in to see the magnificent grand organ! They had a real live concert going on – and can I just say it was phenomenal! The music just swirled around me, like magic. That was my evening – surrounded by music and glitter, with a hot chocolate on the balcony, taking in all the glitz and glamour!
The next day I decided to see London’s world famous ballet performances - who would ever pass up an opportunity like that?! After all, you know I am a ballerina at heart. I just love a graceful, elegant ballet! Now, this was not your average everyday performance. This was a whole new level of ballet. Every twirl, every jump, every delicate movement, had so much power and artistry behind it, it left me speechless! And, trust me, a girl like me doesn't go speechless very easily. They were performing Swan Lake! And all I could think was how fitting it was – just like the graceful, graceful swans of the lake, I am a princess in my own world. I can honestly say it was the most magical performance I’ve ever witnessed.
My adventures were not over there though! Later that day, I headed over to a lovely tea shop! This was so perfectly London! And to really embody the atmosphere of this delightful, quintessentially English experience, I decided to enjoy an afternoon tea, dressed in the perfect outfit. Of course, a pink tutu was a must! But this time, I chose a little bit more subtle one! I teamed it up with a lovely little tea dress that had flowers printed all over it – something charming and dainty! And my little pearl necklace! That was a really great touch for this particular event, because we all know that pearls are totally timeless, but with a hint of playful sparkle! You see, there are just so many fun ways to mix and match! And honestly, it really was the perfect afternoon! I enjoyed my English cakes with the delightful aroma of Earl Grey tea swirling around me. It really was like being transported back in time. And, you guys know this already but just to confirm… a bit of sparkle makes everything so much more fun! It was definitely a very lovely and refined experience.
And don't even get me started on the shopping! From Oxford Street to Camden Market, I was living my best life! So much to choose from - I got a brand new bright pink clutch and a new pink sequined scarf for my next big drag show! This London shopping trip was pure heaven, but the real reason I had come here was the most exciting thing of all. I had arranged a little performance at the Royal Albert Hall - a small cabaret show to raise money for my upcoming trip to Paris! Because you see, when one tutu-queen travels, everyone else benefits! So there I was, twirling in my best pink tulle under the magnificent chandelier, performing a brand new routine inspired by the city itself. We all danced the night away, sharing laughter and music. It felt like the whole city was dancing in unison with me. I felt truly on top of the world! It just goes to show that there’s magic everywhere you go - you just have to look for it with a sparkle in your eye and a pink tutu in hand.
London! I'll be back! But for now, I must continue my travels, to spread more tutu-love to all the corners of the world. Because who doesn't need a little bit of glitter in their lives? As the sun set on this amazing adventure, I knew that I had truly fallen in love with the city - its people, its energy, and its vibrant spirit. I'll never forget the joy it brought me! And my friends, my greatest reward? Seeing the smiles and twinkling eyes of everyone I met – because isn’t sharing joy the most magical thing in the world?
