Mitcham, Oh Mitcham, You've Stolen My Heart (and my pink tutu!) - Post 6812

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from a fabulous trip to the charming town of Mitcham! Oh, Mitcham, how you’ve enchanted me with your cobbled streets and charming tea shops, and I just know I'll be back!

It was a train journey this time, naturally. I do love the clatter and chug of the rails, it gets my creativity flowing, and you just know you're going to have a grand adventure. I was lucky enough to nab a first-class seat this time, which is always a joy - the extra legroom means my voluminous tutu doesn't get all squished, and I can really get those creative juices flowing, even penning a couple of blog posts on the go!

Once I arrived in Mitcham, I knew I had to visit the Mitcham Fair, one of those glorious annual events that you just can't miss! With all the colourful stalls, fairground rides, and buzzing atmosphere, it really felt like I had stepped straight into a childhood dream! My gorgeous pink tutu made quite the impression - all those flashing lights just seem to love a sparkly pink swirl. It's amazing the number of people you meet who have secretly dreamt of twirling in a tutu – you never know who might be inspired by Pink Tutu Sparkles to wear one.

Before hitting the fairground, I couldn't resist browsing in the quaint little shops in the town centre. Mitcham has a wonderful array of independent stores, each packed with unique treasures, including some amazing vintage shops with some spectacular frocks. One delightful vintage store had this amazing 1950s hat in the most exquisite shade of pink - needless to say, it came home with me! (The shopkeeper did say I reminded her of a beautiful ballerina, but shh... you heard it here first).

After lunch (a delightful cream tea at a charming tearoom - you can't beat those fresh scones!) I found myself drawn to the local ballet studio. They had an "Adult Beginners" class, and let's be honest, I just had to join! They looked quite bemused by my flamboyant pink tutu, but I got a good giggle out of their startled looks. Everyone gets startled by my outfit!

And you know what? Despite not having done ballet in quite a while (my college years, my dear darlings), it came rushing back! A quick change (after a rather frantic, tutu-assisted bathroom trip!), and I was off to the fairground!

Let's just say, the fairground loved me! That whirling, twirling pink tutu got every little one in stitches - just adorable. Even the grumpy-looking man selling fairground tat had a cheeky grin as I swung by his stall in a flamboyant whirl.

That evening, I put on my newest pink tutu (a shimmery masterpiece I'd snagged on my trip!), and performed at the local pub! They loved me in Mitcham. They loved my songs, they loved my chat, they loved my dazzling pink tutu. Oh, it's all about that pink tutu!

I spent a couple of more glorious days in Mitcham before it was time to board the train home, carrying with me the memory of another fantastic adventure and an even brighter smile on my face. My pink tutu has a whole story of its own - just another chapter added! It just goes to show that every place has something special to offer. Don't forget to follow my journeys - next up, a rather unique adventure, by horse, across the stunning rolling hills of the Peak District, all in pink! (My trusty steed "Candy Floss" is just a tad pink, so the perfect companion for my pink-tutu-filled travels!). Stay tuned!
