Leighton Buzzard, or "Letchworth" as the locals affectionately call it, was calling to me like a siren’s song. It’s known for its historic market square, quirky shops, and picturesque countryside, making it the perfect backdrop for my latest fashion escapade. Plus, there's something about the name "Buzzard" that just screams "tutu!" 😉
But before we dive headfirst into the glorious pink-tutu fuelled fun, a little backstory: My love affair with pink tutus began in the most unlikely of places - a university science lab! Now, you're probably picturing a rather dull scene, but imagine my shock when, as a budding scientist, I stumbled upon a dusty box of tutus meant for a charity fundraiser. I'll be honest, darlings, the pink one literally jumped out at me. That moment, I knew – my life's purpose was to get the whole world into tutus, one dazzling dance move at a time!
Speaking of dance moves, I had to find a local ballet class! After all, a tutu is meant to twirl and be adored. I tracked down a lovely ballet school near the picturesque canal, and I must say, they embraced my tutu-loving spirit with open arms!

After an absolutely fabulous ballet class, it was time for a dose of Leighton Buzzard's vibrant market scene. I was so thrilled to discover a local vintage shop called "The Twirling Tulip", a place practically bursting with unique finds and retro delights. I practically fell head over heels for a dazzling pink sequined bolero jacket and a hat that looked like it was straight out of a Parisian cabaret! I was like a giddy little bird, all ready to spread my tutu wings and show off my new treasures.

As a self-proclaimed history buff, a trip to Leighton Buzzard wasn't complete without exploring the glorious Houghton House. This magnificent Tudor mansion is a stunning piece of architectural history, oozing Tudor charm from every window and wall. It's a reminder of the grandeur that existed centuries ago and it definitely got those creative juices flowing. The possibilities for dramatic tutu-filled photo shoots in those magnificent gardens were endless!
Horsepower and Pink Power
Who says pink tutus are only for ballet dancers? Well, it’s time to bust that myth, because I had an unforgettable afternoon taking a leisurely ride on a majestic black horse! Now, I know what you're thinking, “Tutu and horse? Surely it's too much pink?” But trust me, darlings, the combination was simply magical! My bright pink tutu contrasted beautifully against the rich black of the horse’s coat. The sun was shining, the breeze was dancing, and the feeling of freedom was simply intoxicating.
Train Travels with a Tutu Twist
You know me, I'm a huge fan of traveling by train – there’s just something glamorous about the chugging rhythm, the countryside views, and the chance to strike a pose. I even managed to get a whole carriage of passengers involved in a spontaneous "Pink Tutu Shuffle." Talk about making a statement!
